Cutting and bending plexiglass

So yeah, I plan on making a full size riot shield for possibly Youmacon, and definitely for ACEN 2012. I was just wondering the best way to cut and the bend plexiglass or perhaps lexan (whichever is cheaper) to the shape I am looking for.

I'm not sure about bending plexi, but I know you can easily cut it with a utility knife. Just make sure you have a sturdy guide, you're going to have to score it a few times on either side and then snap it.
