A LONG time ago I posted this type of thread in a forum I was on. People really caught my attention with some dreams they had, they were really fun to sit and listen to and try to decipher. Some people may say they DONT dream, but the truth is a lot of people have trouble recalling dreams. Dreams are more easily recalled if people are woken in REM sleep and remind themselves of the dream throughout the day or see something having to do with their dream. So, I'm asking all you forum-goers, what are some of the weirdest dreams you've had? Have you done anything crazy during your sleep? I read somewhere in the news one time a girl emailed her friends during her sleep and invited them to a party during her sleep. In the movie stepbrothers Will Ferrell and John C Reily pummel their dad with presents and throw a Christmas tree on him all while asleep. I know all you forums goers have had some really wild dreams. I had one once where I was falling off a building and I actually stood up on my bed and fell down onto it as I was waking up. It was a very freaky experience. I've heard of people sleep eating, committing crimes in their sleep, or waking up being unable to move their body. Share your stories about what you've heard, experienced yourself, or something crazy you've dreamt or your friends dreamt =]

Probably one of the craziest dreams I've had lately was at Anime Punch this year. I help run the con which means that I'm just on call 24/7. At some point, I very distinctly remember hearing my phone ring, grab it off the dresser next to me. Looked and saw that it was Drakie (our head of con ops). Answered it. She said she needed me down there asap. A couple minutes later, I got up and had this very confused, was that a dream or did that just happen kinda thought. Checked my phone records. No such call had been made. It was just crazy because of how real and authentic it was. The hotel room was exactly how it should have been. The colors of everything matched. I heard accurate voices and sounds. Its amazing to me how that didn't just happen.

I've had one of those too. It is very weird indeed... like... you wake up and find out the call hasn't been made or someone could have deleted it. I bet that one left you questioning for days.

I think my weirdest was being with a girl I liked at the time and having a fun night. We got each other gifts and kept walking, then I woke up. I looked for the gift everywhere thinking I just passed out when I got home but like.. wow. I could NOT find it anywhere. Strange thing was about a month later, that very thing was given to me by a good friend. I had never mentioned the experience to them so I was instantly shocked.

I had a dream that I was riding my bike through my college campus. I look to the side and see some Reis from Evangelion in plugsuits come out of one of the buildings. There were maybe 3 or 4. I’m not sure if they were real Reis or if they were cosplayers. I seem to remember thinking they were real Reis, so they must have been clones or something (I haven’t read/watched Evangelion, but I believe Rei is a clone to begin with). I thought the appearance of these Reis was odd, but I rode on.

Upon focusing my eyes forward, I am suddenly swamped with hundreds, maybe thousands of Reis, all running around me and making uproar with their talking. It is hard to ride my bike without bumping into one. They are literally everywhere!

A certain Rei stops in front of me and says something about my appearance. I can't recall exactly what it was, but I remember it being very odd or funny in the dream. It completely took me off-guard. I ask why she is making fun of me, and then she says something along the lines of "I was just joking. You're cool!” with a wink and a thumbs-up, then disappears into the crowd. This made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

The dream ended shortly thereafter. I usually have anime-related dreams, and can recall them quite well.

TL;DR: Teh Rei said I was cool.

I also had a dream that Rorschach from The Watchmen was serving ice-cream samples at the supermarket. His raspy voice scared off little kids.

I had a dream not long after Youmacon '10 where I saw one of my friends fall to their death in the Renaissance Center from one of the walkways that was supposed to have a glass barrier.

I'm afraid of my dreams, only because I've had a few where things very similar to them have actually happened...

Recently I dreamed that a really good friend of mine would just up and turned on me, telling me he hated me... just two days ago, the same friend told me he couldn't hang out with me anymore because his girlfriend "hates fat people". Needless to say I won't be talking to him for a long time...

My husband is in the military, so I often have dreams of losing him. Not like you would think either, he doesn't die on the battlefield, I just physically lose him. Like once I had a dream I was trying to catch up to him in the airport before he left. Expect the airport was the size of a city, with traffic lights and full sized cars driving around! When I finally caught up tp him I chased him onto the plane only to discover when I got in the plane there was nothing but cats and dogs in the seats. It was strange.

I've also woken up physically crying after other dreams and ended up waking him up too.

I'm basically just a big baby.

The senarios you're talking about C2 are cases of REM sleep disorder iirc that's what its called. Basically the brain doesn't release the neurotransmitters that are suppose to paralyze the body so you don't act out your dreams. Which is also why when you're woken up during REM sleep you can't move your body for a few moments.

One of my good friends once acted out ordering a pizza and having it delivered to my bedroom once during a sleep over. It was funny at the time.

Dreams always amaze me, and pretty much sleep psychology all together. It was for sure one of my favorite subjects in school.

Ok - crazy I've had dreams where I've woken up crying, unable to move, making weird noises, and I even have dreams with color and remember some of the weirdest things but nightmares are always the most vivid.

I remember reading somewhere that if you write down your dreams the chances of remembering them in the long run increases, so I've kept a dream journal for the past 6 years, and I'm currently on my 3rd one.
(I can't recall any anime ones at the moment but...)

The most recent dream I had was more of a nightmare movie... There are nursing students at a cabin; they are making a movie as well. Guy1 asks for a shovel, Guy2 throws it to him. It ends up hitting him through the brain he falls (in an industrial building stories high) Guy2 jumps to follow. At the bottom there are army people checking systems and when they see them on the ground Guy1 & 2 begin twitching awake, they kill everyone. Then they go to the cabin, but everyone is leaving and apparently Guy1 and 2 have become super people cuz there eyes were pitch black everywhere.

As the people leave they forgot something they go back and I say i don't want cats inside cuz there is an evil feeling in there. A dog basically tells me to move something so the light is on the grass (this is at night) I do and I see a shadow behind me, turning around its a neighbor, he gives me something but in transaction he is split in half; i run missing the door handle to the SUV, I get it the 2nd time. And as were driving thru town I look out the window looking for the shadow man (they can run so fast that you don't see them) and outside the window someone yells HONK

That’s when I woke up cuz I knew it was him telling me he was there following us....scared the daylights outta me


Sorry its so long but that's only the short version - it was a three page dream...it left quite the impression - after going back to sleep I got a sequel too - HATE that except with dreams.

Yeah. I had a similar dream before then because I saw the pictures of the inside of the place. Almost made me not want to go..

Ranko: WOW, that's REALLY bias and not what I would cal a true friend. Perhaps you were insecure about the friendship all along and had a feeling about what that person was really like and your dreams brought it out of your subconscious.

Rukariou: That is REALLY strange. Especially the twist ending about the dog and cat sitting in the seat. I have dreams too that make NO sense like that but still feel extremely realistic. A city inside an airport? xD Yeah, definitely weird. I can understand though about having a loved one in the military and being scared to death to lose them, physically, or just to stopped being loved by them and end up being abandoned or separated physically for good. Having that sort of fear lingering in the back of you mind must really weigh heavily on your heart sometimes. Yes, that was the condition I was speaking of. It's funny but also dangerous that some people's bodies don't become paralyzed during REM sleep while others can become TOO paralyzed that they can't move at all when they wake up. I recently did a research paper at my college all about dreams, I love studying dreams and just sleeping itself.

@KirbyFanOne: Ive never been so I have no idea, but when I lived in Vegas, my mom worked at the Stratosphere Casino/Hotel, (google it if you have no idea what it looks like) and the windows at the very top of the building lean downward. My mom worked security there for about 11 years, and told me about 5 people who jumped from the top of the tower etc. I would be waiting for her and sometimes lean against those windows and I had a dream the glass broke and fell and I died like the people who fell off the tower. That taught me to never go near those windows again xD

@SJKARMA: I was just discussing dream journals with my psych professor not all that long ago, they seem like a big effort to manage (especially with the condition of my hands) but is it worth keeping one? I always wondered that. I bet it's neat to flip through and remember some of your old dreams and sometimes come to understand them when you didn't back when you had the dream. Ah! That dream reminds me of the dream I had. I had one when I was younger after watching Cabin Fever, god that was a terrible dream. I was hanging out with friends and we ended up being chased through the woods, some of my friends were killed and after all the chasing and terrible things that had happened I remember we came to the end of the dream. It had felt so real yet in my dream it was like a movie because it said (3 months later) and my friends who all survived were swimming in an indoor pool at some sort of cabin resort. I was fixing to get into the water and the moment after I slipped in my friends started screaming, and their skin was burning off (like in the movie with the tainted water) I had just thought it was a relief everyone was alive and for that to happen... so I got out of the water, not my skin was starting to burn from the legs up and I decided I didn't want to burn to death like that grabbed a knife, stood over the pool and cut my throat. I fell into the water and everything was black, it stayed that way for like three minutes and I could see the silhouette of my body, I didn't understand why I would have done something so brutal to escape that sort of pain and still wonder why I had such a nightmare.

@FlyingElf/Mr.Forum Therapist: I've had weird dreams like that too! It's funny how your brain can be tricked into thinking things that didn't happen actually happened. A lot of dreams I had were me being late to things, I'd wake up late in the dream and realized I got left behind to go to ACEN, or didn't make it to an important appointment and got kicked out of places, or just didn't make it in time for the final at my college. Then when I would actually wake up it'd be like 10am and I'd think I was crazy or that it was the next day.

@STEAM: Oh? Does that mean you enjoy sharing dreams? Don't be shy STEAM, I want to know the crazy things you dream xD Knowing your personality in RL, they must be pretty odd, some of them at least.

ATICE: I completely understand the heights thing. I was extremely afraid of heights as a kid, and I've been starting to overcome it by facing my fears but a certain level of heights still make me queasy and uneasy. I had to do the ROBES course and climbed a tree, walking a small thin rope with a harness on, it was a REALLY high tree. That wasn't one of my best moments. I remember I didn't want to fall back and even come down from the tree because I was afraid if I fell back even with the harness on I would fall really fast and hit the ground or the harness would snap etc.

EEK/WOW- that would be intense! Dream movies are weird. About the Dream Journal I think it does help a bit if, for nothing else, but to help me figure out a way to remember my dreams. Even now I still have a tough time remembering every dream I have and it doesn't make me remember them more frequent but my first journal was from '05 to '10 and the second one was '10 to '11 so maybe I do remember more frequently but I did buy different sized one so this was probably the main reason for the big difference in time. But I really enjoy looking back at the dreams I've had and sometimes I'll remember more than what I have written down; I have a friend who's going into film and he likes to use them for ideas sometimes.

Not quite the same subject but one dream I had a dream where I didn't control them but you know those little red spiders. I was going through an attice opening in a closet (similar to Paranormal Activity if you've seen it) and there were millions of them that dropped down onto me and around me. I've never liked them since; never had a problem with them prior to that dream.

Yes, I've heard of things working like this, It's like C2 said. I'm no expert but summerizing what I remember your brain has certain ways of putting your fears/thoughts/observations into dreams. Like insecurities, hopes and dreams. I've had dreams where scores of my friends are taken away from me (granted it was an alien invasion similar to War of the Worlds) but I was fighting for them. About a few months later one of my friends came at me with this issue of not being a good friend and using on of my other best friends name, saying she was on his side and they were both in some cahoots together... I was like excuse me, What?! And I got to the bottom of that issue. It's like your brain can see things coming and tries to warn you or give you a bit of a heads up. (*I could be wrong)

But I'm sorry to hear that happened to you; if he can't even figure out how to be friends with people becuz some girl has issues. I think he has the bad end of this deal because sooner or later she's going to have more than a problem with "fat people"; he's going to find himself in a world he never saw himself in. (just my opinion)

I generally suck at remembering my dreams. I know I dream a lot, especially after my husband leaves for work and wakes me up. And because I usually don't have to be up for a few more hours I fall back asleep. Like for instance, I know I had two different dreams this morning but I don't remember them, except for they were morbid.


The dream I remember the most from my childhood, was a nightmare of sorts. Well, it scared me and looking back on it, I have no idea why. Since all it was, was a doctor x-raying peoples heads and revealing everyones brains were small peanut shaped masses. I HAVE NO IDEA why when I woke up I had to go sleep with my parents, but I did. I was so scared. ; ;

I like how you're just using my nickname here as well. I've had dreams like that too on occasion. It sucks. You always wake up in a panic cause you're convinced that you just missed something really important.

This morning:

For whatever reason, I was in the audience for the Price is Right, sitting in what seemed like a smaller theater styled seating area. It was pretty empty with about 30 people overall and the show was going on with Drew Carey. I sat watching the show and thought to myself that if it is this dead all the time at a taping that they must be computer generating the crowd when it is shown on TV. Then as they were getting ready to show an item on stage, Steven Tyler comes out and starts mingling with the contestants. Everything else after that becomes a blur.

I have a trend of having lots of post-apocalyptic dreams. Usually with zombies, Im there stabing them and shooting them and hacking them to pieces... They are really fun. =D

Btw trying to hack somebody isnt as easy at it looks, everytime Im slashing somebody with a knife or sword it seems to always get stuck.

I remember this dream that i was fighting back to back with Link and we were surrounded by the ghost in 13 Ghost. The one with the claws tackled me and started tearing me appart, Link turn around and said "If your going to be that useless then just die alredy sheesh." It was all so funny I woke up laughing and didnt even feel the slashing in the dream.


SIDE NOTE: Please dont be scared of me, lol, my dream violence is usually comic and not gory. Im actually quite against violence and I cheris life a lot. Im not really into bloody and gory anime in which people die for no reason. I just play to many video games. I used to be a scary-cat when I was younger so to deal with my fear now I get angry and fight back.

Well i have a lot of weird dreams
but the one i can remember the most today is the one that i had during the ACen 2011 weekend
I had kept seeing a Ulquiorra(BLEACH)cosplayer and so when i went to bed that night i had a dream where i had to cheer up Ulquiorra cause he was all down, it was weird ( after i told my cousin he was like Ulquiorra doesn't cry and stuff, it was a dream besides i dont watch bleach )

another weird dream was where i was playing online with my friend first at his house then at 2 different houses,after a while WE were actually in the game and we traveled,after a while my friend had to go to the restroom so i had to defeat a dragon myself but i almost got killed then he came back,asked what happened after i woke up and i looked at my legs.It looked like those where my legs in real life so i freaked out and a couple minutes after my friend healed me i woke up

xD i cant remember any of my other dreams, oh well?

Had this one during one of my mid day stress naps, but after I was in my bed for a while I thought I was watching a Jets-Patriots game on the TV and I saw the Pats got an INT and were kicking butt (naturally) and after the play a ref blew a whistle and commanded attention to himself. For some odd reason he started giving this emotional, somewhat comical speech about something before removing his sleeve of his shirt (it was snowing) and it was a strange looking prosthetic arm with a large empty vat in the middle of the arm.

Then a firetruck went onto the field, raised it's ladder and everyone started singing together about something I dunno. Like I said my dreams are...

About 7-8 years ago I used to have this strange dream. I'll try to describe it as best I can:

I was in a boxing ring. no gloves...no crowd...no anyone there. I was looking in the opposite corner at nothing, but I had REALLY bad tunnel vision. Everything was usually blurry. I felt a rushing past my head, and then I would just pop directly out of sleep, almost instantly. It wasn't a "nightmare" but a really strange dream. For 2-3 years I had this dream almost every night, until one day at school, when some kid came up and sucker punched me in the jaw. All of the sudden...the dream made sense! and the dream stopped!

Weird, huh?

Had a really weird one about a smartphone that I bought taking over the world and doing weird applications, like from a Godzilla movie.

But most of my dreams have been borderline 'Silent hill,' or Guro >_< Well in the past. Lately I haven't had any really scary ones.

I had a dream after playing hours and hours of left 4 dead 2 that I was Nick, and I had to face a witch all by myself. So I just kept running and running, and finally found a heavy machine gun and woke up. Probably the second weirdest dream of my life.
