Hello everyone.

I would like to invite whoever is interested in learning how to play Japanese Style Riichi Mahjong to come out and join. I usually have meet ups 1~2 days a week, usually at Streets of Woodfield Starbucks. If anyone is interested in learning a new game, and meet up new people, please feel free to reply to this post. I will schedule times and days upon the feedback I receive on this topic. If anyone has a better place in mind for a venue where it is safe to play at, please give me all of your suggestions. If you are interested, please do not hesitate to mail back.

Hey, this sounds like it could be interesting. I probably wouldn't go to every meetup (it's a pretty long bus ride for me to get out there), but it might be fun to go sometimes and to learn Mahjong. When you have the meetups, is it mostly free play against whoever's there, or do you ever have more organized tournaments?

As far as which days I could go, my Fridays and Sundays are open, and most of the time Saturdays work too.

I have a set from Japan that I never play with. I forgot the rules a long time ago but still know some of the basics. I'll stop by when I can ^__^

Meet ups are usually always freeplay. If there are newbies coming in, then I usually run a dedicated tutorial table strictly for teaching. When you feel you are ready, you can play the other guys in the group.

Next mahjong meet up will be on June 16 which is Thursday @ Starbucks Streets of Woodfield. The GO Club will also be there as well for those who would rather play GO or both. We usually start up at around 6:30~7:00 ish in the evening. For those that are interested in participating, just reply to the post. Thank you very much.

coming up is Mahjong on the 20th of this month. that is the Monday after Father's day. this event will be held at Streets of Woodfield Starbucks in Schaumburg from 6:00pm to close. If there is anyone that is interested in palying/ Learning,please let me know so that I know how many sets and boards to bring.

For those who are still interested in learning Japanese style reach mahjong, I am doing a teaching session today at streets of Woodfield Starbucks from 4:00~ midnight. Otherwise mahjong meet up every thursday same place from 7:00 ~ midnight.
