I've been to four hotels in the area: the Hyatt, Aloft, Crowne Plaza, and Holiday Inn Express. Of them, the best were the Holiday Inn Express, and the Aloft. Crowne Plaza was nice, but it's really overpriced now. D:. It was convenient too, but again, it's way too expensive. Aloft was nice, and the price was good at the time. I didn't walk there, but it looked like it was pretty far. As for the Holiday Inn Express, I really liked it. It had nice rooms, was fairly priced, a pool, and free breakfast. Free HOT breakfast. XD. Well, they had sausage patties, anyway.
.
I really liked it, but it's too far to walk to within a decent amount of time. I think it's a five-ten minute drive from the con. D:.

I've only stayed at two of the hotels in the area, Holiday Inn and Hyatt. My first year was at the Holiday Inn. It was a very nice hotel (probably nicer than Hyatt) but quite far from the con, and I wouldn't say it's walkable. Every year since then I've stayed at the Hyatt. I don't mind the crazy atmosphere. I don't really come to cons to sleep 8 hours a night and relax, and I like being close to the action. Maybe if I'l still coming to ACen in a few years, I'll change my mind, but for now I won't stay anywhere else except the Hyatt.
Oh, I visited a friend's room at the Embassy Suites as well, also a nice place. Very spacious rooms!
