I wasn't part of the Hetalia group last year...but I have an idea for a Germany cosplay this year...and i've never seen one like it before. However, I don't want my idea stolen, so I won't post it, but I can say this. I WILL NOT be carrying around an actual flag, I WILL NOT be wearing Nazi insignia, and WILL NOT have my hair slicked back

Can you PM the idea? I want to make sure no one is going to offend anyone. And I won't share--I never share photos for the same reason as you.

I think I love it and I don't even know what it is. ^^ Personally, I'm not very fond of Germany's grumpypants character in Hetalia and prefer the Germany in Scandinavia and the World.

I've considered Germany, I may not have blonde hair but I know a bit of German and can throw a decent accent.

I do need to practice my accent...everytime I try to sound German it comes out Polish...

Inkwell09: OMG, German accents are the BEST. I promised myself I would make a Prussia cosplay last-minute if I managed a German accent, and sure enough, it came. It helped that I had pressure, am obsessed with German, and had a German friend. Also, when all else fails, search for reference on YouTube. Learning English tutorial videos in German would be my first bet.

That is why I am going as Germany! Plus most of my family is German so that is besides the point.

I'm almost entirely Scottish and Irish, but somehow I'm like...1/64 German (or something like that)....So right now Germany is the only Hetalia representation I have XD

but when my Polish accent does surface....I sound EXACTLY like the Poland's english dub voice. It's awesome XD

THAT'S AMAZING. I wish I could do a Polish accent. I just don't have much motivation for it. :/
I won't go to the gathering this year, but if there's a conference-type panel, I'll definitely try out for it. Also, if I'm not somewhere else at the time, I'll visit you guys.

I'm not sure if I'll make it to the gathering, since I will have HS and DGM photoshoots...and potentially a skit in the masquerade, but I will be at the Hetalia photoshoot. (If i'm not somewhere else at the time.)

PJ Germany I am guessing. I am thinking that it will be a first I see anyone attempt that one.

Too bad there wasn't anything special that Germany did during that German Cafe bit, that one would have been fun to do... 15 minutes to eat that is crazy talk.

I wish I new someone going at Italy and Japan we could go to the beach.

I might go this year as CD Russia with an America plush and hope it doesn't get lost/picked up like Mochi last year. Studying Russian so I will be the only Russia talking Russian.

Into Megaten hard so if it doesn't conflict I'll show up.

I also promise this year to be more aware than last year for hijinks. maybe I should cosplay Greece since I'm so sleepy all the time.

Only pairing I want is Waiting for spring, Russiamerica. I'm good with whatever rules/etc. you guys have.

I noticed today just messing around that I can tweak my voice enough to sound like Russia. I thought it was awesome... but I'm not cosplaying as Russia though.

I've figured out that if I quote enough of Germany's lines, I can pick up the accent (I can imitate Poland, America, and France perfectly without needing to "practice" before hand though...) And yeah, it will be Germany in Pajamas. I've never seen anyone do it, so I thought I'd give it a try. My eye color is exactly like Germany's anyway, so lucky for me, no colored contacts.

This was about me being a Streaker!France, but due to some issues with my former cosplay group, it appears that I will no longer be cosplaying anything from Hetalia. I still request selfcest as a pairing, though.

To put it simply, we don't trust the behaviour of congoers who have not seen this thread or are a bit young. Especially in the case of France, who is a rather perverse character, younger fans may be quick to misbehave here and we would like to avoid that, especially because "selfcest" is a term that is often interpreted as sexual in nature. There is, of course, a lot that could go wrong quickly, so I am not saying that there will not be anything that goes wrong. We simply wish to avoid any mishaps that we can. That is why we have not allowed flags or Nazi insignia. That is also why there is two of us running the gatherings. (:

That makes a lot of sense; I didn't even think about that. I'm glad you're running this instead of me, I'm horrible at thinking ahead for that sort of thing! (And I especially like your decision to not allow flags by the way)
