I thought I would make a ME thread, as I did a search and found that the series does not have its own (an admin can tell me if I'm wrong and direct me to it). This series, from what I've seen, has some love here on the forums but I'd like to see more of it. I for one am VERY excited about the upcoming ME3, though...

ME3 Delayed untl 2012

It was a bit disheartening, but I thought it over and told myself as so long as they're making it the best game they can. It also gives me time to run through the second again after playing some Skyrim to finally finish getting all the achievements and making the decisions that will carry over to the last chapter in the series.

So, does anyone have something to say about the delay of ME3 or just the series in general? ;)

honestly im glad their delaying it. its better to fix the game now than in patches following.
im also stoked because its supposed to change depending on the choices you made in the first and second ie rachni queen, live/die scenarios.
ive seen screenshots and graphically WOW
i hope they impliment the same amount of humour that they have in the other to like the "Im commander Shepard and this is my favorite store on the citadel" *goes across the street* "Im commander Shepard and this is my favorite store on the citadel"

Believe me, I love Mass Effect 2 but IMO the first game is superior. Again, the 2nd game fixed A LOT of things but to me there was barely any story... which is a bit disappointing since it's part RPG. The whole game is pretty much collecting team members and doing their loyalty side quests. The few times where things actually progressed (Collectors, Reapers, etc) where completely awesome but I wish it pushed forward a bit more.

So yeah, great game but that's my biggest thing about ME2.

I'm glad they are delaying it. I just picked up Mass Effect 2 not that long ago. It'll give me time to beat it in all the different ways and save up for all the DLC they have for it.

Problem with me is how different the controls and HUD is sooo different from the from ME to the second ME. I made the mistake of playing the second one first. I'm trying to play the first one now and I'm all kinds of lost...

I had that same problem switching from 1 to 2. Im still not happy with the combat system since I like being a tank and have no powers whatsoever. And in 2 they took alot of that away. Even though I've done nothing but boost my health and armor it still only takes a few shots before I lose my shields and health. But then again maybe it'll be better for me when I playthrough again as a biotic. *shrug* I do hope that they go back to unlimted ammo in 3 though. I hate having my sniper rifle run out of ammo before a big fight. :(

I will agree that the first storyline IS superior to the second, but the controls of the second seemed... easier? Once I got used to them anyway. I wonder if they'll keep that formula for the third one.

Fully agreed on the sniper. I'm a damn good sniper, but once I run of out bullets... I start punching anything in my way out of panic XD

True the controls in the 2 were much better erm how can i say easier to manage

and tons better in the team AI now that their able to use biotics and skills automatically. in 1 i coulnt tell where they were aiming their biotics <_>

I find my self buying more in 2 than in one

i think i went through without buying a single item yet i was swamped with tens of twentys of the same pistols that i was forced to crank into gel lol

hopefully they can mix method and madness in 3 and make a wonderful game to tie up the series

^ The abundance of extra weapons, armor/bullet upgrades, and tech/biotic abilities was a pain in ME1. Breaking down those extra parts was such a chore. ME2 definitely fixed all that and put the focus on gameplay not tedious item destruction.

XD I LOL'd and ended up looking at more vids involving FemShep hacks to have romances with the females on the crew. I may just one day figure out how to post scene from my own ME (I think my FemShep is pretty and badass). It made me wonder though... Kaiden is gonna be pissed at my Shep in the third game XD

Speaking of romance. What was all your first romance with for both games? Liara was my first, and I'm pretty secured tail as my second. :D I really wish you could have had her in the first one though.

Definitely whored myself out and tried to hook up with everyone possible in ME2 and Dragon Age. Need to get Miranda in the sack at some point. I heard you can woo Garrus as female Shepard in ME2...?

I'm going through my 3rd playthrough of ME2 using female biotic adept Shepard. Took a while to get used to without slow-mo or assault weapons but I soon discovered that they're not needed really that much. This is especially true when you have another biotic in your squad. Combining powers seems much more powerful than conventional weapon fire.

Mass Effect 2 was intended to be more of a shooter than an RPG. The constant use of cover to regenerate and the emphasis on critical hits (headshots) really gives it away.

Is the system more accessible to people? For sure. I love the fast-paced action intertwined with some RPG elements. The Thermal Clip system is far more intuitive than the "your gun has to recharge bullets nao lol" hiccup that always seemed to get me killed in ME1. It forces players to moderate their shots and not only make them count, but to use all weapons available to that class (excluding the Soldier, as they just have too many guns to realistically run out of ammo).

There isn't really a tank or healer role, which I hope doesn't change. I don't want a 3PS/RPG to feel like an MMO.

The main story is a tad shallow, yes, but to really flesh it out and make the most of it, your support characters' missions must be completed. It reveals so much more of the interpersonal dynamics between party members and Shepard. I hope they can keep the best of both worlds for ME3--a strong plot element while retaining the characterization and personal missions of ME2.

Things I hope change:
The element gathering system (confirmed overhaul)
Less arena-type gunfight areas
More about the Reapers
More about Cerberus
Rachni presence, since I saved their dumbass species.
Proud geek

Contemplating doing my FemShep one year at ACen... I can take pictures of her, and I think she personally fits the "femshep" image one should imagine. But yeah, either that or even an Aria cosplay. Because you don't **** with Aria.

Ok. After getting farther in Mass Effect 2, (yes I haven't beat it yet. :() I'm really worried for Mass Effect 3. So much has changed gameplay wise that I really miss Mass Effect 1. Plus they are adding mulitplayer they are proabably taking work away from the single player campaign mode. :(

Something about adding multiplayer in Mass Effect greatly upsets me. Not every game needs to have online play nowadays!!! It's always been a single player RPG. WTF?
