I think cleaning should be done about a month or to post con just to give time to make any last comments on certain areas. Make a post-con rejoicing and using it during the con to find meetings or gatherings.

I think cleaning should be done sometime between August and before the AA opens up applications.
as for when topics get moved, if it was a really good question, the topic may have to be added to the faq.

I definitely agree about waiting after the con to wipe the boards. I think if the boards were archived now I would lose it. :|
Maybe in August/September? Right near the beginning of the school year? I realize that the "year" stops starting around then once you're out of school, but I feel like a lot of congoers are high school and college age, or have children who start school in the fall.
I think there needs to be some discretion used when moving dead topics to the archive--do stickies follow the same rules? If so, then posts that get little traffic throughout most of the year would get moved, too. Just food for thought, I guess?

I think a month after the con sounds like a good idea. I don't think topics should be limited at all. It's nice to have the freedom to discuss anything we might want to, and it seems like everyone is good about keeping on-topic. Most topics seem to be requests or advice so I think it's especially important to keep all that up until after the con is over.
