It's pretty tough to beat the original. The only way I'll accept this is if it's extremely ridiculous like The Expendables.

It's true. As amazing as the prospect of a revamped Bloodsport is, I dont know if it'll ever beat JCVD; HOWEVER the dude that's writing for it wrote the Fifth Element and all of the Karate Kid movies, so there's that.

I remember JCVD was trying to make a sequel a few years ago, but couldn't use the name "Bloodsport" due to copyright issues. The premise sounded pretty good.

Honestly, if the new movie doesn't JCVD in it, I wouldn't call it a sequel.
Also, it looks like there already was a sequel of sorts in 1996:

Never watched any other Bloodsport besides the original. I'm pretty sure Netflix has a bunch of them (at least one other) so maybe at some point I'll have to check it out for once.

I'll see the re-made Bloodsport simply because its name is Bloodsport. Hopefully JCVD will make a cameo or something. Speaking of, did any of you see the movie called JCVD? I actually liked that movie a lot.
