Anyone going back? I know I am. I had a lot of fun there last year and I cant wait to go back to the Maid Cafe! Its back at the Mariott GM Renaissance Center. November 3-6! Whats neat about it is they have fun events scheduled on Thursday as well. Anyone get their rooms yet?

I booked my room within the first half hour they were announced. lol I will be there and doing the Maid Cafe again! I can't wait to go again this year!

I liked the building and the convention. Not so crazy about the whole going up and down the stairs thing most of the time though (ouch), but I'll definitely be back!

To avoid the madness that was checking out, I requested a lower floor so I wont be stuck waiting for hours on a elevator. I AM SMART WOO HOO!

We're planning for it, but we hope nothing or no one bad happens in the meantime. Finances and stuff. We also can hopefully get a lower room in case I get a flareup and need to lie down. :/ That would stink if we were on like, the 60th floor again for this.

I hope to go back again this year as well. It was really fun last year and it's a cool venue. (Gotta love the food court.) We'll see if I can get a room at the hotel or else I'll commute from a hotel in the suburbs like last time.

i always heared good things about this con and it close, only issue is that i am kind of alone, can't drive, and i know this is silly but Detroit scares the crap out of me and i take the train to the south side of chicago for work.

i geuss i can take a train that take about a few hours but i how no clue how to get around the city. i go to acen since it only a 5 min drive from my house but i want to go to more cons, but my friends are not really con goeser and this acen i want to change things and it just a web of thoughts and and's right now.

My friends tend to be more afraid of detroit for me, since for some reason they think wearing a Dallas STARS jersey in downtown detroit is a bad idea.

Well i have check the prices and added up for hotel, train, badge and food. and it doesn't seem out of reach for me for going there but there is still a few concerns i have like getting from the Detroit train station to the hotel, places to eat. i have a few questions about the con, like how is it, the only cons i been too is acen and recator, the former i love but the latter i hated, i don't know what this con will be like since my only take on cons are from giants like acen and ants like reactor.

EDIT: i didn't hate reactor due too it size, i hate it due too it kind of being a roudy and lowbrow con.

First off if I go you're more than welcome to ride along. I plan on driving up. Secondly, you won't have to worry about food. In the lower level of the convention center in the back there's a food court that has a bit of everything McDonalds, Chinese, etc etc. On the second? floor there is a CVS/Walgreens in case you need any last minute supplies. It's definitely a better experience than Reactor. On a scale of biggness I'd put it in between Acen and Anime Iowa.

I would strongly recommend just McDonalds, Burger King, and Subway for that food court btw. I heard people got food poisioning from the other places last time... I would stay away from them tbh... especially since you're at a convention you really don't need to eat that much you know. Just get something maybe in the morning if you want and then before they close up shop (which sadly I missed on the first night b/c I was walking around and never noticed that huge food court... at 9 pm.. LMAO!)

But yea, I'll take a train to get there if I have to! I'm going!

I ate at many places down in the food court and didn't have any problems.
