In the past, I didn't always get badges for cons. You can still walk around up to a certain point, like if the con has a set-up for a masquerade or dance, or some major event. The rest of the hotel and grounds are usually open to anyone.

EDIT: Forgot to ask if anyone here is looking for roommates for Kollision. I've got the 2-floor whirlpool suite booked and may not have enough people for it. Enquire for details, thanks.

Haha, yeah they told us that at the pre-reg table which was cool. I'm really excited for that, he's a pretty big guest for a 2nd year con, and that should bring in a lot of people. I'm excited I really want to meet him.

It definitely wasn't bad at all. Took me all of 3 minutes on Friday morning, I'd say. It's still such a small con that it shouldn't be an issue.

I remember being there last year (helped a ran the mahjong tourney at the Hyatt) and it seems they will be there again this year. It was just great to see familiar faces and hang out with friends and whatnot. Really considering checking the place out for sure and hopefully meet up with a group of friends!

Anyone interested in attending but short on cash could consider signing on as staff, It is a way to get in on the ground floor so to speak. Also it could be a fun way to meet people and try something new at a con. I did last year and am doing so again this year.

Just a thought, has someone posted information about the con on other anime forums( I.E: Animenewsnetwork, Funimation,etc.) or just here? I'm sure there would be some overlap of who reads about it, but it could get the word out to those in the area who are not on here on a regualr basis or those who might be in the area around this time.

Just found out more info on this con recently. I *might* go. I'd likely only go on Saturday, $30 is a bit steep for me for one day and I really can't afford to do three-days when I have ACen and other trips planned. I do live really close to Pheasant Run though, so just the fact it's there makes me kind of interested.

I might be going since I live real close! My work isn't letting me request it off for "holiday reasons" so hopefully I can get a random Friday or Saturday for it. Either way, I'm thinking we should schedule a Meet N Greet for some of us on here, possibly at Giordano's? If I can't make the convention itself, I think I can at least make the Meet N Greet!

What does everyone think of that idea and would Giordano's work? There are other restaurants near by if you have a preference based on your favorite type of food. I know the area like my back hand :checks back hand and sees a My Little Pony tattoo: WHOA! how'd that get there!

I went to St. Charles once since Anime Midwest used the same hotel this past summer. There's a good amount of places to eat and stores to shop at such as TGI Fridays, Jimmy Johns, and Wal-Mart just to name a few. They're right across the street from the hotel although you still need a car since it's pretty spread out. If you want ice cream, the hotel has a Ben and Jerrys.

As for the con, I'm curious how the layout is gonna be. There's a big indoor space next to the hotel. Midwest pretty much used that space and then there's about 3 panel like rooms on the left side of the hotel.

And I also hope that my fan participation event goes through. I submitted at the last minute and didn't realize they opened it in the first place. My GF caught it almost 30 minutes after submission closing. *crosses fingers* If you came Saturday last year during early afternoon, you know what event I'm running.

Also Portillos, Chipotle, Olive Garden, Ihop, Chilis, and likely more! In terms of food, the convention is in a good spot. I'm down for anywhere to meet up though if you all want to do one. Admittedly I'm not a big fan of Chilis (my family and I were once served raw buffalo wings and frozen egg rolls, it's been awhile though but it hasn't been the same for me since.) If the majority of you want it though, I'll go!

As long as I get a full day of work off, I will go the con on Friday or Saturday just to see what it's like!

Yeah there are pretty good places to eat there--just don't go into the Charlestown Mall. There's nothing there but Kohl's, Von Maur, and I think Carson's? And a movie theater. There's nothing to do there so don't even bother going in. And there's a World Market next to it so you can get your emergency last minute Ramune/Pocky/Hello Panda etc. (psst and they're pretty cheap too! )

Yeah, the movie theater is the only time I really go into there, it's a freakin' ghost town! Didn't know about World Market having those items, I might have to start going there more often.

Johnny Yong Bosch would be cool. If I go, I might try to meet him.
