I think I most enjoy really well done sci-fi anime/manga.
But I also have a huge weak spot for romances. Romantic comedies and dramatic romances....I love them both.

My tastes go across the board, I'm just more prone to choose sci-fi or romances when left to my own devices.

I watch a bit of everything. I try everything to see what I like. I watch a lot of magical girl and action/adventure. But mostly shounen and shoujo of all kinds. But it's more shounen. I'm a girl who loves boys who punch boys. XD

I mostly enjoy action/adventure types of shows because of the way certain scenes like fight scenes can get my attention when it's well animated. Comedy is also my favorite too when there's jokes and puns that are funny to watch especially something as simple as slapstick comedy.

I use to love your typical shonen anime but now a days I find I like Slice of Life animes. Lucky Star, A Channel, Minami-ke, etc. Also any anime done by Key Visuals (Kanon, Clannad, Angel Beats!)

Although it's not really a genre, my faves tend to be where they end it on a "bad" note. I cant seem to get enough of the ones the leave me with a truly crushed heart... though, those are hard to come by

I love those too! Like the movie ending for Evangelion. Well otherwise I like Space Westerns and Crime Fictions...Cowboy Bebop has both....it wins all prizes!

I love comedy and anything that's random, but I also like to watch a bit of Shoujo here and there :)

I never have been able to sit down and watch anything romantic all the way through...it just bores me. I love comedy/satire, so Hetalia ranks up there super high (plus I'm a history nerd), but I also like shows that have a really well thought out and clever story, like Death Note. Although the plot line was simple, getting to be inside Light's head the whole time was psychologically thrilling...
I guess the easiest thing to say is, I like action that ends sadly, or has some wicked twist at the end. Right now my faves are: Death Note, Kuroshitsuji I & II (only makes the list because of Sebastian  ), and Hetalia. Sure they're all new, but they've appealed to me more than any other series have.

I have a tendency to love anime that tries to screw with my head. Higurashi, Eva, RahXephon, FLCL...the more it tries to confuse me, the more I obsess over it.

Slice of life
on the off days sometimes I like crazy series with deeper meanings and symbolism. [Madoka, Mawaru Penguindrum, etc.]
but I also love a good service anime. Mayo Chiki is my current fancy.

Mecha, first and foremost. Gundam, RahXephon, Mazinger, and more than I can think of now.

Sci-Fi, too. Lain, Ergo Proxy, Texhnolyze, and weird mindeff things like that.

And I'll usually give a show a chance if it has a female lead character. If it's weird or not, I don't know, but I always appreciate when shows have a strong female protagonist, like Balsa from Moribito, or Major Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell.

I like strong female protagonists too--and it seems that Shirow Masamune loves to use strong female protagonists and I think that is a part which pulls me in to read his manga. Deunan from Appleseed I would consider strong as well. But Major Motoko Kusanagi is the coolest ;3. But I'm not biased whatsoever. XD

Harem, ecchi and Fantasy based are my favorite. I do squeeze in a few of the others every now and then to change things up.

Drama, love me that drama. It can be subtle, it can be overblown, but drama is good.

I love manga with serious or dark tones a lot and drama falls under that pretty often.

I'm not a huge fan of sci-fi or historical, but I'll basically watch anything.
Although, I do admit that I love my comedy, psychological, mystery, and mind-twisting series. XD

I don't know what else to really put here....
So have a nice day. ^^

I don't really have a favorite ( ̄▽ ̄) I like cool artsy stuff or just really unique/funny ones I guess. Though I haven't finished it yet, I really like the look and animation of Mononoke. I'm a huge Tiger & Bunny fangirl. I loved Kuragehime despite the rushed ending. I will forever love Princess Tutu, FLCL, Gundam Wing, Outlaw Star, and Trigun.

I DO know I don't really like ecchi or harems.

Supernatural, sci-fi, romance. Oddly enough I'm not a huge sci-fi fan when it comes to TV or books but shows like Outlaw Star and Cowboy Bebop and Tenchi...full of awesome. I like shows where a whole new world is created. And like someone said earlier, game-based animes like Persona 4 and Tales of the Abyss.

I prefer seinen and even some shounen and shoujo, but I like exploring the "original" plots instead of the same old thing all the time. Horror and historical are great too.
