Standup and LOL 2: Electric Boogaloo: The Violent Torpedo of Awesome is back.

Prepare to get your face rocked off by Comedians and Comediennes who can make with the funny. This year is longer, funnier, better, more amazing, and other exciting adjectives!

It’s quite amazing, really. People tell jokes, and you laugh. Last year the most popular part of the event was the open mic. And like a KFC Double Down, sometimes you need to give people what they have always wanted, even if it kills them.
So you may be asking yourself- Self, how can I get involved? Well,



At the beginning of the event. There will be two lists you can sign up for.

The first list gets you a spot for 3 minutes.

But, we get it. Some people don’t have the time to prepare three minutes of gold (or in many cases, straw). The second list gets you a chance to be entered into a LIGHTNING ROUND of comedy. Thirty seconds to tell as many or as funny jokes as you can! If you have a joke, a story, bring it.

People ask me: does it have to be about anime? Well, no, but if you have a good anime joke, now would be the best (and let’s face it, only) time to tell it. If you have a gaming joke, or about nerdery in general, go for it.

Obviously you can make a joke about anything, but jokes about the NFL lockout (for example) will fall on, if not deaf ears, the ears of those whom are less likely to get it/laugh and more likely to give you that look that people give the kids who sit down in the manga aisle of Barnes and Noble for hours. You know the look. Yeah.

Hopefully this year I will be able to be a part of this. I know I was going to try and set up my own comedy panel last year, but I had just been hired for a job and couldn't get the time off so I had to bail on ACEN.

The list will be available from the second the doors open, tentatively at May 21st, 7pm. There will be two lists; one for longer sets, and one if all you have a is a joke for the lightning round. You can sign up for both.
