I loved the Big Lebowski cameo. Just spectators, no speaking parts. Derpy is probably as far they will ever go to give a nod to the older fanbase.

Derpy was also in human form in Equestria Girls.

Speaking of which, I wasn't sure how I would take the movie but I thought it was fine. A human version of the same formula though I remain faithful to the four-legged variation.

The movie was a bit too formulaic to me--too easy to predict. By the ending I was thinking that Equestria no longer has to worry about Sunset Shimmer. She's going to be doing 20 hard ones in a Federal prison for an act of terrorism, to wit blowing the front off a high school. Or be in an asylum once she claims that she was trying to gain control of a magic artifact from a land of talking horses.

But that's overthinking a movie that wasn't aimed at brony professors as its target audience.

I tend to agree. Sunset Shimmer bring stuck over there kinda stinks..but then again, if they spin that off...but wait, how could they without Twilight?

Sunset Shimmer could be the Element of Magic, or Human!Twilight could show up (remember that Rarity hinted at "some other human from another school with a dog").

Good thing I'm not in charge of Hasbro. I'd make that spinoff dark as hell.

I guess that does make sense. It seems like everyone had a counterpart in the humanoid land so technically, Twilight should have one there already as well.

Guess I need to watch equestria girls. The video from comic con with the storyboards was rather interesting. I hope the show can return to form in season 4. season 3 was a bit of a letdown.

I am looking forward to watching Equestria girls when it comes out on video.

I like that they maintained the same VA's and that they seemed to have maintained the characters.

Immediately went to YouTube to find this scene. Sure enough, it's there. What's funny about this is I saw this episode in full, but didn't catch it till it was pointed out. I just...wow.
