Slow forum/site load times?

I was wondering if anyone else is having slow load times for pages on acen.org including the /forums? From home or work I have had 20-25 seconds to load the main acen.org page and 20-30 seconds to load the forums. It took 30 seconds to open the new topic so I could type this message.

I am using a business speed internet at work — DSL at home — And I have used my 3G phone. Using Iphone safari/ Firefox 3.5.7 on a Mac / and IE 9 and Firefox 4 on Windows Vista (need to upgrade to Windows 7 at some point)

Also noticing a very slow load at times, and at others the site doesn't load at all. No idea what the problem is.

Same here. Hosting must not be robust enough to handle ACEN loads. ^_^

I will open 4 tabs at a time and Acen/fourms will be the first one I click and the last to load -_- it's disheartening.

Any way this can be fixed?

More powerful (and expensive) hosting computer(s) or modifications to the forum software to see if they can turn off/change stuff that makes it slow down. After they added more social aspects to the site (general site software upgrade?), page load times went up quite a bit.

Hm, no slow loading times here...at least not right now. The server is responding well to everything console wise. There's plenty of RAM left for everything and there is hardly any CPU load. This is also the case with the database server, so whatever is doing it is not related to the hardware.

I guess it is worth mentioning that I am using a text based browser (no graphics) and EVERYTHING on acen.org is loading very quickly for me.

Just as an update, very slow loading times almost to the point that I thought the forums were down or something.
Using Firefox 3, on windows 7
I won't be attending Acen 2012 due to school. Acen 2013 Cosplays remain a secret.

slow on google chrome and sometimes Firefox. It's been like that for a while and suddenly gotten worse. Sometimes the page doesn't load at all.

Ebay and everything else is fine it's just this site.

It's slow on all (Major) browsers. Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer 7&8, Opera, Safari, Maxthon, Flock, Avant Browser, Deepnet Explorer,and PhaseOut.

As stated before, we need to keep in mind that the user workload is only going to increase up until the con. Weither it's due to the tier deadline or just member usage, all we can do is be patience and let the IT peeps do what they do best :mellow:

I've noticed ever since the new update it's been like this periodically. Haven't noticed anything like this the others years tho. (not that I remember)

It gets like this around Tier Deadlines. Normally it crashes all together so we've been lucky it hasn't yet :) it should be better by April 2nd if IT don't find a way to fix it. I've got 1 to 5 minute load times on my laptop :(

It started going faster around midnight central when we went from 120+ people in the reg system at a time to 60-70 which is the normal amount. It's probably going to be slow again today and tomorrow between 5pm-12am.

That makes sense.

Right now the load time is fine, it just slows down in the evening. Nice to know I'm not the only one.

It was a pain for me yesterday. I thought I was having problems with my internet server. Im glad its fixed now and I can go back to validating forum members, and banning spammers.

Yeah I had similar problems when I go wireless and roam around my dorm. it varies from day to day if connection is good or bad. Only acen forum I have this problem though. But the lag doesn't super bother me.
