Please remember that all ACen staff are volunteers and have day jobs so replies will not be instant. We do get a lot of emails this time of year and do our best to answer them quickly. Everyone will be replied to before we do our remailing.

Normally we'll check the email that was used to contact us for an account if you did not include it in the email. If they need more info from you they will contact you for it.

I have a quick question. would it help to send our address in the event that the addresses got screwed up some how?

Yes, that would help. We've moved to hand writing most mailing addresses for remailing to try to make sure they're legible for the post office. It's unfortunate we're having so much trouble with them this year It's not extreme, I'm sure it seems that way with so many posting they didn't get their mail. But it's still below our 1% failure rate and we will be trying to remail them asap! Unfortunately out of 6000 envelopes, it's just going to happen to some.

For at con we do have a booth specifically for mail pickup so no one has to wait in line for their badge which is why you get your badge mailed. You will also still receive our fancier mailing badge when you get your reprint.

We've already looked at how to do mailing more efficiently next year and plan to mail by late November/early December, possibly an option to guarantee delivery before Christmas for those who are gift givers. And plan to mail them out according to purchase date. We considered order number but orders can be created and paid for months later, payment date seems like the best way to make sure no one is missed. Instead of printing alphabetically and having to go back to a letter over and over to catch new attendees. No one was missed with our alphabetical printing this year, it was just a way that could cause fail points we'd like to avoid in the future.

As always we're open about our methods and issues we may have, I know you guys like to know what's going on. And we're always open for suggestions, opinions, comments, concerns, and ideas that will help us improve for you.

Do you think it could help if at the time of sending the recipiant of the badge get a confirmation email that the badge has been sent. You can do it via the waves, and this way if something didn't come in the person that didn't get it could get back to you faster? Something like "We're happy to inform you that your badge has been sent in the mail."

Also is there a way to verify addresses?

Sending badges out by order of Day of Payment would prolly be the best and most fair way to send badges out. Specially if you decide to go with that early mail out phase before Christmas.

The system prints exactly what the attendee enters for their shipping address, it's up to the attendee to double check it and make sure it's correct. Our most common issue is people not putting in their apartment or unit number or street/ave/road etc.

We will be looking into a way for it to give a mailed status and there is a function to email the attendee account updates. So hopefully that will be possible. We're thinking about scanning the QR code as we drop it into an envelope, or having it marked as mailed right when it's marked as printed. Worst case would be having to manually update each account

Well I suppose my main concern is why wouldn't the two badges I purchased not come together? That seams like such a waste of resources, time and money. So worse case senario I don't get my badge before ACEN, what do I NEED to bring with me to make sure I get one at the event?

All you need is your photo ID at the event and to go to the Service Desk to get a reprint. We will be doing our best to remail the ones that didn't make it through the postal system.

Question, What kind of ID should I bring if I am Under 16? Is a school ID fine? (I know 16 year olds use school ID too but they have their permits and license unlike people under.)

I just sent an email as well about a friend's badge. I got my badge without an issue but I also pre-reg'd mine early... Hers I pre-reg'd near the deadline...

I'm not terribly worried at this point, even with things coming as close as they are. Heck, my letter carrier mom's getting more worried about it than I am, lol... It's probably a good thing that I didn't tell her when I actually paid for reg or she might really be freaking out.

As one that did a stint in Reg one year and found it fun and made of win even if it didn't quite click in the big picture, keep being awesome, especially you Bloo. ^^

I sent my second email to reg on May 1st and heard nothing. I just sent another one last night still nothing.

I sent my origional email April 17, and got a reply April 18th and I was told my badge was printed but that was it.

I have no recieved my badge and this is my 7th year going to acen and i've never had this problem.

I would like to know where my badge is and if its even coming at all please.

You only need a photo ID if you are 17 years old or older.

We're doing the remailing today and tomorrow. If you don't receive your remailed badge you can get a reprint at the Service Desk in the registration hall, or the Liberty room in the Hyatt.

We currently have over 200 emails and are getting well over 50 a day. Please remember we are volunteers and are answering these while we're not doing our "real life" job and personal things. We will get through the emails before we finish remailing badges. Not all 200 are mailing concerns! Most are new attendees asking how to register at the convention.

Yes, we will be setting aside those badges to do reprints when needed so you will still get the fancier badge that you paid extra for.
