This all started at the Hotel/Convention Center in the topic: Double Tree Hotel. Someone said that they will be at the hot tub and I was like I'll see you there.


This for those of you who are here on a Thursday. The Double Tree Meet Up is a LOCAL event, this is for those people who don't want to go far. This is just like your family having a small party in the back yard type of thing.


Location: The Hotel's Hot Tub and Pool side. OR outside if the weather is nice and there is still sun out and then go inside.
Start Time: This will start at 7pm.
End Time: 10pm if there are any people left or they tell you guys to Beat it!!!!.
What are we doing: Meeting all the people on the forums who agreed to go and make a new friend for the weekend. If you meet you're future spouse there, send me an wedding invitation.
Can I go too??? Yes you can if you are staying in the area Thursday night.

Don't forget your swimsuit if you plan on going into the water.
Change of plans, I have to go back home later at nigh to get my brother ready for school in the morning and you people need your beauty sleep.

Yeah Steam we do have a band wagon but Im sure not ALL of them will want to come...

But its worth a try..

Still dunno what time exactly we will be up there...

Im going to the Main Forum Meet n' Greet @ 8.

Then after that, I will be there since Im not going to go to Ihop.

So no matter what at some point I will swing though there.

Yeah, big problem with this is you are almost clashing with the main forum meet and greet at 8 on Thursday. Just letting you know

It still is a slight problem if people choose to go to IHOP. (Or want to basically) That usually goes on til really late.

Well I would find out how long the pool is open at the double tree. If so, I would still suggest starting at 9 as an alternative to the ihop part of the meet and greet. But thats just my 2 cents on the issue. As your event you can run it how you would like. I would like to see as many people at the forum meet and greet as we can get though. At least the hanging out part, even if they don't go to Ihop. Its been our one true time to really get to say hello to everybody. Even those from out of state and meet the person behind the screen name.

That or my other suggestion would be to simply start it earlier. If you start at like 5 or 6, there will be a smaller, more laid back crowd which it sounds like is what you want and still would not be an issue conflicting with the larger gathering. Still, like I said, your event, an you are welcome to do things as you wish.

I think its best to just leave it as is. People have different prefrences and its no really fair to hold up everyone wanted to hot tub till 9 rather then go eat pancakes

From what I have read, from the Acen 2011 Meet and Greet, the event will start at 8pm in the Hyatt and then at 9pm go to Ihop for those who would like to go.

My event starts at 7pm at the Double Tree's Hot Tub and Pool side of the hotel, don't forget your swim trunks and towel, and you must be ready to relax before Acen starts which has you guys running around to what ever you guys have planed out. And if you want to attend both places that is fine with me, make sure you time it accordingly. This is nothing but a 'Hey let's check out the Hotel stuff before we devote ourselves in Acen. Oh hello there, are you here for Acen??? Really what is your user name??? WOW you are______??? Oh I'm ______. Nice to meet you.'

So by the time Acen comes around the Hot Tub Pool Party will be set to date stay tune for a poll in the later future.

I'm pretty sure you're allowed to have guests use their facilities if you have a room at the hotel. Which is how I figured they would get non Doubletree people in. And as long as the population in there didn't get ridiculous (and we weren't trying to break anything), I doubt the hotel would really notice or care.

I might go but it's a wait and see since I want to go to meet and greet and I have no idea what time period I will be there on the 19th since my b-day is the day before.

Really? I always thought they were much more lenient on this.. Last year.. Or was it the year before last?.. I dunno! But my friends and I were able to get in around 2AM, after a tiring night at the Soap Bubble. The cleaning crew told us it was closed, but said they didn't mind giving it to us for an hour or so. The staff seems pretty nice about this sort of thing, so I wouldn't be surprised if they'd let you stay longer?.. but seeing as how this is a meet-up, that may be doubtful.. Hmmm... I'd still call the hotel to check anyway.. I don't doubt Jguy! It's simply a "just in case" sort of thing! That way, if you want to extend this hang-out, you can create a phase-two of this plan!

I might pop-in for a few, depending on when the official Meet-and-Greet ends. Hope I can see you all there!

Well I knew they had to shut it down for cleaning so I'm thinking 10pm to 11pm is when this side gathering can end.

It is set that there will be a small gathering for those people who are staying at the Double Tree on Thursday night. Feel free to plan an event we can do so we can know each other better than talking to each other.

This was originally for those people that are staying at the Double Tree Hotel on a Thursday and I thought why not let others join in so no one is left out but the other event, Acen 2011 Meet & Greet, is meeting at another location and time then going to another location as a group. Please note that this is a rough Draft of this event.

End Time: Until you get tired or sleepy or if you said you to yourself you must be in bed by bank o'clock or I say "It's Bed Time." Then you guys must continue on your own time so we all don't get in trouble with the Hotel Personnel.
