So, about 6-7 years ago, roughly, I traded some anime to a guy (back when it was done on CD-Rs, instead of DVD-Rs) and in order to fill in some cds he through some random stuff on there. (Btw, these were all fansubs, no licensed anime) On one of these CDs were several episodes of an anime that had to do with some kind of ghosts, or spirits. These kids went to a school where they boarded, I believe, and somewhere nearby there was an abandoned dorm room or building that they went to late one night early on in the series. I know it was early on because I only saw probably the first 4 episodes, but then couldn't find anymore. I have NO idea what the name was, but I think it was slightly long and started with G. I don't believe it was Ghost Hound... but if any of what I wrote rings any bells, please post!

I don't think it's Ghost Stories but you should definitely check it out!
Only the English dubs, though. It's hilarious!

I would guess Tokyo Majin or Zombie Loan, but I don't think they match up with the timeline...><

Thanks for all the help so far, but alas the search continues. I know that I never saw an english title to it, only a slightly long one-word Japanese title I believe, though that could be off. Maybe it just was never completed or something >>

The more I watch of this Ghost Stories the more im thinking either this is it, or something very similar. I think what threw me is that the art looks different than what I had remembered... >>

w00t, it IS Ghost Stories :D Thanks guys! The name I knew it by was GakkĊ no Kaidan, but this is definitely it. I read that the dub changed some of the words to make it funnier or something, and I have laughed my butt off at the jesus girl, but do you suggest watching it subbed or dubbed? Is there that big of a difference?

I always like to watch my anime twice. Once subbed ond once dubbed (sometimes I can do it at the same time). It can sometimes end up sounding like two different stories...

And of course sometimes some of the dialog is just plain better in one over the other. I can find the English version better as it's often a rewrite and better done (more polished). Then again the English version can get real lame if the publisher aimed to dumb it down for the typical American audience.

Ghost Stories it wasn't a matter of dumbing it down or something like that; they totally threw out the script and treated it like an in-series MST3K. But anyway, definitely watch it dubbed. The sub is very straight, boring and barely makes any sense if you really think about it.

Didn't they do that with Dual Masters, too?

Sounds like Ghost Stories to me as well. The only difference is that they didn't live at the school but it was a long time ago you watched it that could just be something you're not remembering.

I watched this anime first in English and then in Japanese. The English version was absolutely hilarious. I hate dubs but I don't even count it as a dub. It was just really fun to watch.
