I'm surprised I couldn't find a thread on this show already, it's a Cartoon Network kids show on Mondays around 8pm, the ads I saw in movie theaters last summer did not impress me much, but when I actually sat down and watched the show it blew me away. The child-like exterior neatly disguises a show that is obviously geared towards nerd-culture, thoughts?

This is in no way a kids show... It's definitely made for older teens, nearing, or having just reached adulthood...

why do we have to make all these arguments about it 'not being for kids' to justify watching a cartoon?
the best cartoons can be enjoyed equally by children and adults, right?

personally, i felt like this show was a little over-hyped at first, but it's grown on me, and now i enjoy it.

Who says we have to? I honestly believe this show isn't really for kids...

just because a show has an adult joke slipped in here and there doesn't mean its main demographic isn't younger viewers..just because a show is for kids doesn't mean the writers don't add a layer of maturity so that older viewers can also enjoy it.

I'm with Keiichi in that the best stuff can be enjoyed by both children and adults. Case in point movies like Shrek.

Regardless of whether or not its a kids show, I enjoy it.

An enjoyable program? Yes it is. But epic to the point that it breaks the Epicometer? Come on, don't be pulling my leg, yo.

My boyfriend is a big fan of Adventure Time. I didn't get why he liked it until I sat down and watched a couple episodes with him. It is a pretty funny show that is enjoyable.

IDK if flapjack got good rating. Plus didn't it go from following chowder to being a morning show only?

these are my feelings, but, like prayer, i may just be a little bitter that this show replaced flapjack, which i liked more.

also, no, this show replaced flapjack, and that show just ended around the time this one began.

If I remember correctly Flapjack and Adventure Time share some cast and crew.

In regards to the age level for the show, I agree the best media is one enjoyed by all ages, but actual programming for children would have less, morally reprehensible lessons at the end. That is unless all programming for kids these days lack moral fiber.

like old school spongebob, when it had some adult jokes, and now...it's bad.

At first I was like "wut?", and had no idea what the show was, but I caught an episode of AT when I was having a few drinks one night and thought it was hilarious [I think I caught the end of the Tart Toter episode, which was a really good one]. Now it's like the only show I make a conscious effort to try and watch. Love the nerdiness and random vocoder songs and the sups-creative characters, especially John DiMaggio doing Jake's voice (since I'm a big Futurama fan, too).

I have absolutely no problem with that opinion, but the way you post it makes it look like you're just trying to troll and stir up hostilities. I mean, why did you make this post? Are you just trying to start a flame war? If you have an opinion, awesome, but actually post something of substance instead of simple name calling. Name calling is pretty much the lowest and simplest form of insult. Especially because I'm pretty sure the show itself has no actual mental disorder.

Comment removed from thread.

Please refrain from such statements that would promote flaming. Comments like that are not necessary. If you have an opinion on it post it. But when you say something like that, its not only insensitive, but can cause a flame war which is something we DO NOT tolerate on the forums. We can agree to disagree, but that's taking it too far and that is something us mods do not like. Please think before you post.

Oh my GLOB, I LOVE Adventure Time! Seriously, it's hilarious, clever, and has a charming little art style going on. And it's totally helping me replace cuss words and more offensive phrases with other words! Me, my older sister in law and her son, watch it together all the time. We record every episode on DVR and we even bought the shirts from Hottopic. If and when I see people dressed as Adventure Time characters at ACen, I'm totally gonna freak out yo'! XD

Are there shirts at Hot Topic now? I have mixed feelings about that....

Anyway, I love Adventure Time. Every few years, Cartoon Network comes across an awesome, awesome show. I was ticked when Chowder was canceled, but Adventure Time has made up for it.

Something about that show that draws me in. I loved the season finale ending. Not the Heat Signature one, but the one before it. The one where Princess Bubblegum turns 13. It was very touching and yet odd XD

Yes, I completely agree! Adventure Time has that certain something many shows lack. And I too loved the finale, but yeah, it's weird, does that mean PB will remain 13? That'd just be odd.

I really like this show too, but sadly it usually is on when I am at work. I've found a place where I was able to watch all of the first season, but sadly I've only seen a few episodes of seasons 2 and up. I think they should start releasing this series on DVD. XP
