One last note. I don't understand the war against skinny people. Bigger people want less people making fun of them, but it's perfectly okay to hate skinny people? Really?

This.

And I'm always harsh when I try to beat sense into people lol, I understand not a lot of people are in too much of a hurry to side with someone who carries themselves like I do... Someone has to do it though.

@ CactusMomma

Well, someone actually took the bait, you sir/woman/whatever, are a liar, not only are you a liar but you are employing the lie to back up your own view which is so misplaced it's not even funny... sorry broski, me now was the correct choice, saying different just shows your incompetence or lack of being truthful to people with how you ACTUALLY feel.. BTW, I was dreadfully close to dying with the weight I gained, the doctors were fearing diabetes at the MINIMUM. All around heart failure was on the table and at the very peak of things my joints were being overworked with the amount of weight they had to carry around... So you see, your biased and all around laughable perception of things is not only wrong, but dangerous. Good luck with that.

AGAIN, someone brings up the rail category.. again, you are beating a horse that wasn't even around to be dead in the first place, NOBODY BROUGHT UP TOOTHPICK SKINNY PEOPLE, ALL YOU ARE DOING IS GRASPING AT THE FIRST CATEGORY OF PEOPLE THAT SIT OPPOSITE OBESE PEOPLE AND IT SHOWS YOU DONT HAVE MUCH TO GO ON IN THIS WAY

Don't get into the porn/fetish category why? because it stabs everything you have said in the back and buries it? Good luck disregarding fact and flying on your giant, magic egg beaters made of pixie dust to Neverland while you listen to Neil Diamond's "Coming to America" brosef.

Everything you have said makes no sense at all when posed in response to all I have said, all you are doing is whining about it in reality, Where are your facts? Where? Show me. Oh yeah, damn, I already supplied those didn't I?

I'm not known for tact, nor am I known for tiptoeing through the tulips to protect sensitive subjects from virgin ears. I'm known for being in your face, blunt and matter of fact with no regard for someone that wants to play in pretend land because it's a "touchy subject". As such you aren't going to magically start making sense with everything I have suppllied in this thread, especially to someone like me. My videos of my other hobby pretty much explain my attitude and what you should expect from me.

BOOGABOOGABOOGA Y U MAD?!@

So spare me the lack of "tact" nonsense, it's deliberate.

My metabolism has slowed down killer, I just keep up with it, eat healthy and stay healthy... just because others cannot, doesn't mean that once you hit a certain age you are just destined to be huge... I've seen 80 year olds with more muscle than I have, and in better shape than 95% of today's youth

I lived the first 5 years of my life in Prague there tough guy/girl, born and raised. The whole anti-american weeaboo speeches of how other countries are how you describe them because you magically know somehow isn't going to get you very far. My family moved here for a reason, and it wasn't because our country was better than this one, food for thought.

As for this bit,
"Cosplay has always been a hobby that's been looked at and laughed at regardless of how much skin shows or how much weight a person has. It isn't something that will land you a 6 figure job and it isn't something that outsiders will look at seriously."

I make six figures a year, have 20 employees and a fleet of 10 silverados... I cosplay. Sue me.

Protip: You can do both ::LE GASP!::

First warning. Chill down your high horse, 'broski'. Your alleged riches mean nothing to me, but showing them off like this does make you look like a pretentious and gloating jerk.

They mean nothing to me as well, you are the one that brought up money.

Congrats on starting a discussion you cannot finish and pulling the mod card, classy.

I do like how you seemed to be 7 years ago.. you looked comfortable with yourself..and now, the attitude I'm getting from your posts is "look at how pathetic I was, and now I'm awesome, so love me!!" All you have done in the last 3 posts is flaunt your material success and horrible attitude by putting others down. Positive reinforcement goes a -long- way. If that's the attitude that comes with it all, then I will gladly welcome in those who don't put so much emphasis on their weight. As long as people are healthy, it shouldn't matter what shape they come in.

And mod card? When you're pulling that kind of attitude by putting up such a posturing front that screams lululitrollu? We call that mod sass, sir. Besides, my small posts are pushing you to throw up massive walls of desperate defense... go outside and take a breath.

Morbid, you do sound awfully bitter and shallow. :( Congrats on turning your life around by being healthy but that attitude needs some turning around as well.

she was talking about MAKING money from cosplaying. and while there are a few women that do , they still sell things on the side. And it is laughed at. or fapped to. Cosplay is considered weird. And I for one enjoy not being the same :]

and there's a word I want to use , to describe the "new" you but alas it is not PG-!3 :<

Do I think morbid obesity is a problem? Yes but I've never run into an honest to goodness obese person that was mega happy about their weight.
I think the "curves " of your girl is more of a "well taped breasts" as the non cosplay photo shows. She would still be considered a slim , perhaps skinny build.
Which, no matter how healthy you 2 stay, you will gain weight. Age happens. Having children and the stress that comes with it. Illness. When my mother was diagnosed with cancer, she was fairly healthy. Treatment made her skinny but the aftershock of everything made her gain A LOT of weight. Things happen.

Now , my husband and I cosplay together and we aren't what you'd ever call "perfect" or even healthy. He's tall and very slender and he couldn't build muscle if he tried ( which is good as I'm very turned off my muscle) and I'm tall and have CURVES. I have them in spades.
If I was 100 pounds fatter, I'd still cosplay. I think cosplay becomes terrible to look at when the outfit is of poor quality and craftsmanship.
Like in the photo of the 3 women, the one to the far left is wearing a halloween costume? Am I wrong ? I find that just as gross as I would on someone with "too many rolls".

So if you see a roll or some cellulite, why get hot and bothered? They are having a good time. Make your mental "ew" face and move on. Don't sit there and dwell on the lifestyle change they should make. Who's to say they haven't already been losing weight? How would you know what's going on in their lives?

I feel like you are probably also against crossplay, amirite?

I'm more comfortable with myself now than I ever was back then actually. I'm not flaunting anything, I'm telling people that you are going to get looked down upon if you are morbidly obese and dressing scantly and have some whale gut wafting around, and nobody wants to see that, ever, PERIOD. and you are arguing that, it cannot be argued, it's unsightly. PERIOD.

That's shallow and bitter? Try truthful and no BS, In person this attitude is what I am and I make friends faster than I can count so I really question your irritation with my attitude and quick jump to call it arrogance. It's simply the attitude I grew into, nothing more, nothing less. I say things that are offensive to those with weak feelings and accepted by those who see the big picture.

Where have I put others down? Where? Where is the target as a single person? (this will be the second question I have asked in this manner with no response) Put down? No, Just facts that people trying to be overly nice and adhere to all observe as put downs. I know plenty of fat cosplayers that do a great job cosplaying, and this involves the use of abundant fabric, not lack thereof. If you try the latter, it's no secret, cover that crap up, nobody wants to see it.

If you want positive reinforcement go to the workout thread I started once upon a time to help people get in shape for Acen a couple years ago... this is another matter entirely, people are arguing something that clearly only has one answer.

You call it mod sass? NEWSFLASH, that's a mod card. To be honest I really did not even notice you were a mod until you said first warning, go figure. I'm not going to treat you any different than someone else arguing with me so if that's a problem and you deserve some kind of special quarantine from my big bad wolf posts that kill unicorns apparently please tell me now.

and the wall of text is because this is a discussion, and I cover all points. But if you want to believe I'm pecking at the keyboard 100MPH turning green that is your prerogative.

@ linlindesu

I don't get crazy when I see a fat person dressed in a skimpy whatever, but my entire group does the eye contact shuffle and the troll face, as I'm sure 80% of everyone else does. (which you just agreed to and IS ALL I SAID ORIGINALLY) Which leads me to what I said in the first place. NOBODY WANTS TO SEE IT. but I mean, now I guess because I'm so direct in my posts I flip out and throw coconuts at every fat person cosplaying whether they are well dressed or in skimpy clothing and am a skinny rail anorexic woman lover that hates everything... I mean, that is the general gathering of info I have browsed coming from the "let's warp this guys posts to make him look like a monster because we don't agree with his bluntness" gallery.

Perhaps take the time to stay on topic instead of making this thread about me? Oh, unless you have to deviate from the topic because you are at a loss of words for how to combat what I've said?

"I feel like you are probably also against crossplay, amirite?"

After some swift calculations you will have an answer of, "If they can pull it off I am all for it" Which is how I feel about obese people cosplaying. Some people are so big that maybe you should just have a problem with them walking for so long and dying at the convention... never mind the cosplaying. This is okay to you?

But you know, this whole page has just been huge assumptions about me and not the topic at hand... but I mean, you pretty much parroted what I said in the first place, just made it less blunt... That is one thing I am not, is less blunt. Obviously how I am ruffles feathers enough for people to go off in 876 directions attacking my point of view to get a word in edgewise on this "horrible monster". Unfortunately that is the real world, some people you just won't like, and I am contributing to the topic at hand in how I HANDLE THINGS, trolling? I hate trolls. Real life trolls that scream "the game" across conventions and act like idiots are worse than obese cosplayers IMO, I would drive them into the nearest cement pole if they weren't always so far away when they do it.

I'm not banned from any forum last I checked, but thanks for your input.

Go back and learn what a troll is before talking about said "troll" word.

A troll wouldn't be this in depth with his posts, or take the time to even get people to understand where he's coming from, or even post about the topic at hand.

Also, stay on topic tough guy

Your post partially sided with my POV.

Hence the ignored.

Thanks for seeing things clear enough though, I mentioned you making a really good point with the war on skinny people thing.

Funny part of everything is that I was head of security at a con last year and have been invited back for a second. Go figure.

but yeah, I'm a troll sent here to infiltrate the con community and make fun of them! ::rolls eyes::

This is exactly what you've done time and time again. Go back and edit your post to say more defensive things and try to troll me into a fight. I'm not arguing this topic with you because it will go nowhere. Have you gotten into a PM fight yet with a mod or admin, because that's your M.O. and you know it. Oh and keep posting pics of your friends with benefits like you love to do. We are all very impressed.

I've probably said too much, but I don't care anymore. I can't believe you're on this forum too trolling it up.

I guess, but it's exactly how I act in person. I think it's sort of redundant to put on a show or hold back because of how others will accept you or problems other people will have with you.

I've moderated an automotive forum for 10 years now. This is how most of our members are really, I feel like that while cosplayers are looked down upon (yes this includes me) and a large percentage are sheltered and awkward (but some of the best people I know for the most part) that I can have a conversation with them the same way I would have a conversation with someone on a mustang forum asking the same question.

I know. I hate censoring myself too. Tho things like this happen. I always try to see things from both sides, and I can see how they would take offense, yet I can also see your standpoint (as naturally I understand the harsh truth better then others) What makes it worse, most anime loving folk tend to be more fragile then other types (due to many factors, which are probably pretty obvious), so it just makes it even worse.

Dunno what to say tho otherwise tho. Tho I feel this is gonna end real soon. One way or another.

Well I mean the answer is simple, I just will go back to not posting. lol, I just am not the type to censor myself for other people because they think that is what I should do.

It's just a shame that because someone does not fit a certain attitude that was pre-determined by some form of forum deity that the act to silence said person by force must go into effect.

IIRC Saddam Hussein did that during his reign too

You don't lurk on 4chan /cgl/ do you?

I was just curious and re read posts and ummm....yeah. I don't know what to say. You guys basically said it all.

The whole point is: Don't care about what other people say and their opinions, especially online and/or they are strangers. Up to the point that you don't do bodily harm, mental or physical to said others.

I think its wone thing if your a boy and overweight theres allways cosplays that you can get away with but for a girl...there all skinny and showed a lot of skin. I'm not fat (I'm fluffy!) but I'm a larger girl and I have to try and find a cosplay were I dont show off to much which has been a challege in itself. I've done a lot of cross dressing and finally did a fur suit (I was kyuubi from naruto 2012) I dont think it sworng fron larger people to cosplay its suppost to be fine who really cares. Its not l ike were in a contest or anything just go out ther and enjoy what you do.
Anime Central 2012 Costumes:

Kyuubi from narut0: 99.9% done

Broken youth Naruto 0.0 % done

Splicer from Bioshock 100% done
