Whoo hoo!

Valentine's Day is fast approaching, and I was worried that my order of pre-printed personalized cards was going to arrive late because of the snow storms.

But they're here!

50 cards nicely inscribed with:

"I love only you!"

Now where are those sheets of mailing labels I ran off...

(Darn, I should have checked with the Post Office about Bulk Rate mailing... eh, maybe next year...)

I don't mind it's a "hallmark" holiday. It's still fun. And it gives me an excuse to buy Fannie May candy for myself.

Last year my boyfriend got me white roses and took me to dinner at my favorite expensive-and-only-for-special-occasions restaurant. :3 And I made him a mix CD. I don't know what I'm going to do this year :\

This year were too broke to do that. But I hope to get flowers or chocolates, because I like stupid little things like that.


He has it easy. I have a severe allergic reactions to all metals, including silver and gold. As much as I'd like a ring or necklace, I don't want one made out of surgical metals, lol.

Last year, my friends and I had an Anti-Valentines Day party. A bunch of us girls got together beforehand and made sugar cookie hearts with cracks down the middle or hateful messages written on them. Our party was great. We got into a candy-heart fight, had fun with some crayons and coloring books, and played Mortal Kombat.

This year we don't have anything planned. We're all kind of apathetic towards the whole holiday. It doesn't even matter if we're single or dating someone -- none of us really care. XD

This is the first time in about 3 or 4 years that I've been single on Valentine's Day.
I'm one of 2 out of the 5 managers that are going to be single so I guess I'll spend it making money ;
I think I'll make chocolates for friends though ( or at least get them candies )

Not sure what I'm doing for V-Day. I know that night is probably going to be really busy at most restaurants so I'm probably going to think of something to do on that weekend perhaps. The holiday doesn't bother me. What bothers me is how others celebrate it. I can't stand those commercials that are like, "Buy your woman a diamond necklace for V-day! That is what she really wants." Alright Mr. Commercial...you don't know what I really want!

I already kind of started celebrating -shrugs- If you can call it that. I was making red velvet cupcakes with my beau. We helped each other frost and decorate them and talk about how we used to always help our Grandmas frost cakes or cookies.

I have no date for Valentines day...I was with my ex for a total of 3 years but we never spent valentines day together...oh well. It's a weekday, so I won't get to sleep. Maybe I'll make some fudge for myself or something that night. XD Anyone want some fudge?

I do know a lot of people personally hate it due to commericalism or because they are 'haters,' in chicago but I always end up doing random things or being nice, single or not. People found me weird that I was 25 and celebrating Halloween.

I'm going to go visit my bf this year if I can; the previous years except for the last two years I made my ex bf strawberry cheesecake.

If I had food stamps, cash, and time I would send the guys on the forums candies >.<

I'll be working on Valentines Day. Not sure if I'll do anything later on that night. It's not always the best day to hangout with friends. Most are either dating someone or going to be to depressed.

I'll be at work that day. Valentine's day never really bothered me. My folks never really liked to celebrate any holiday really, so most holidays are that regular days to me. And seeing people together doesn't make me jealous. Glad they have someone to spend time with.

(However I still argue you don't need a certain day to show your love. I find that idea to be pretty stupid, and just an excuse to get people to buy crap. Lots of expensive crap. lol)

This Valentine's Day will be my first with my boyfriend living in the same state as me (it'll be 2 years this May, but he moved here from Boston last July). Unfortunately I have to be in class from 1pm-10pm that day! Harumph.

my last long term relationship I had a long time ago was neat though, we would stay at home and make some bomb a$$ cupcakes and play video games all day xD

And... xD I dunno, I'll admit, I'm a SPAZ for Valentine's Day, mostly because I'm into these goofy corny Halmarky kind of things.. xD (As a kid, I grew up without alot of Holidays... so any 'Holiday' to me now is WAY important!) Though, I will agree, Valentine's should be everyday..or at least an when it's unexpected~ A box of chocolates on a Wednesday evening~ Now THAT's sweet..

Depends on the person really.

I just think that Black friday is overhyped but I used to work in a retail store and we basically brought prices down barely only for the people who were overhyped for that day only and had to be overworked due to the commericalism and we need the sales so I never really got into it. Also I didn't seem that many good deals that I couldn't get ebay or just waited until like a good sale day to get at a much cheaper price. The pcs on black friday I seen cheaper recently, like the Acer netbook, and it's not worth killing people over or camping out in the cold but hey that's just me ^^;

White friday is indeed where the guys buy stuff. There is also a holiday where you buy your coworkers crap too XD

Althought if it makes you feel better I could buy you chocolates.....but I'm introverted and shipping is a pain where I live.
