Hello my fellow Death Note cosplayers. For the third year in a row, I plan on bringing Matt to Acen, since I simply adore him. Sadly this year, my regular Mello may not be going with me. I do have a couple friends cosplaying DN for the first time, so everyone is hoping for a gathering. Since I didn't notice a topic I decided to start one up. So, any fellow DN cosplayers on the forums?

Details for this meet-up:
Day: Friday
Time: 4:30 - 5 pm
Location: Loading Docks Left

Day: Saturday
Time: 5:30 - 6 pm
Location: Tree Patch

This will be my 2nd year there. :3 If there is a photo shoot this year (as I've noticed the increasingly smaller fan-base), I will definitely be going. And I will have my Near with me. <3

Yes, while the fanbase is still pretty strong in like, the fanfiction world, the cosplay fanbase has seemed to slow down quite a bit. But I adore my Matt cosplay and will wear it again.
Let’s see…well my Mello didn’t come until later and she wore a Wammy version, if that helps? But I was with another Matt and Mello more than her.

A picture is easier haha. But yes, I know a Mello and a Matt, and possibly a second Mello that's going. So there's a few Wammy kids that will be running around

I will be bringing my L cosplay (or BB)....and I may have a Near attending with me. If there happens to be a gathering I'll see if I can make it.

During A-Cen 09 I cosplayed a Mello with a large chocolate bar prop.
This year I plan in re-vamping that very same idea, making an all new prop with new improvements. I love using large exaggerated props when I cosplay to add humor and fun irony to my costumes. I look forward to seeing you all there this year. x3

I remember you, that giant chocolate bar was awesome haha.

I also know a BB who is coming, so we have at least a few of us, and I'm sure we'd see more if there was a shoot in the schedule. Since there's been a decrease of DN cosplayers would we want to only have a shoot Friday or Saturday instead of both days?

Hmm good question...
Its shame there's been a decrease in DN cosplayers, but I think it'll be a staple series for cosplay for a long time considering the respect it holds in the anime/manga community.
I will be Mello both days so if we decide on just one photo-shoot, either day works for me. I'm not sure when the gatherings need to be decided but I think we should wait a little awhile and see how many other DN cosplayers show up around the forum...you never know, this will be my 7th year at A-CEN and this is really the first time I've ever joined the forums. So there will probably be a bigger turn out than expected.

(Oh and thank you! Lol This year I hope my prop will turn out even better x3)

We have until March 25th I believe.

I'm not sure which day I'll cosplay Matt yet, it depends on when my other cosplay partner wants to do DN Angel. Yeah, there usually is a bigger turn out at the photoshoots because a lot of people aren't on the forums.

It was a toss-up between my Mikami and "Angel" L, but I'll be bringing my "Angel" L back this year on behalf of my awesome friend, who finally decided to cosplay as Misa (the white-shirt/striped leggings version). I was a little bummed since I didn't have a sweet prop like I planned, but seeing as how I got both a glomp AND candy from wearing him for all of ONE afternoon, on the whole he was a total success. And now that I'll have a Misa, I'll just hover behind her and "haunt" her the entire con. XD Our Light may not be able to go (boo), but our Misa's pretty much a guarantee.

I'm going as Light this year and I'll have an L with me. The only other photoshoots we need to go to are Ouran, which is at 7pm on Friday, and Loveless, which hasn't been decided yet.

The Saturday one would work perfectly for me; it doesn't take that long to change into L (wings included), but I have three other cosplays to juggle, two of them debuts (Link's technically not a debut; I just gave him a new prop). But it's weird how there doesn't seem to be a Zelda gathering this year...unless I'm not looking hard enough... *scans schedule again* ...nope.

Kusanagi: This is the schedule for the groups that have threads and active interest. I was looking at putting LoZ at 10:30/tree patch/Saturday since they generally meet super early..and then anyone can join in the Nintendo Full meetup (Same place, 1 pm) if they'd like.

Hi. If I can find a Death Note notebook by this weekend I'll be cosplaying as Light Yagami... I have shirt, pants, tie, and all I need is jacket, Death Note notebook, and maybe a wig. lol. My hair's definitely not long enough for Light so.. yea... If I can't come as him, I'll let you know before but I'm likely only to cosplay as him just for the photoshoots and a little bit before and after.

Naw, you were great!

I just only got a picture of you because I wanted to leave... it seemed like the photoshoot was never going to start...
Plus I didn't have my Light Yagami cosplay so that was a fail. :/
