So I could post some generic info about the con which is supposed to woo you into coming, but if you want that you can simply check out the website. And well if you've attended this con you already know that we never do anything generic and boring. So instead I'm going to do this. I go to a lot of cons. I talk to a lot of people at a lot of cons. A lot of those people express concerns that they feel old around cons. Theres no room for academia, and that most cons seem to have a lot of the same events and panels. We felt kinda the same way. Over 6 years ago Anime Punch was founded on the basis that we were going to do something different. We were going to invent the convention that we wanted to attend. Something different. Something that pushed the limits. Something that was both smart and awesome. Hell a lot of the events we use now are the suggestions of some of our founding attendees.

So we created the college aged anime con. A con that is smart and intellectual during the day. A con whose every panel strives to teach you something, begs you to learn and debate with us, and have you come away more educated. Then, at night we would have some of the wildest, craziest events and parties ever seen at a con. I believe we have succeeded magnificently. Anime Punch is truly a unique experience. I have never once heard anyone tell me that they attended and it felt like just another con. It is a con built on a strong moral fiber who will never ease off its ideals in order to appeal to the masses. We are an anime con and while some people criticize us for not covering every aspect of Japanese culture, frankly you can get that at just about every other con out there. So while we will not teach you how to Para Para better, we are the only place where you can discuss family dynamics in anime, watch an Evangelion puppet show, and then at night attend the hentai olympics. We also do not have simple fan panels either. Instead of a Hetalia fan panel we will discuss Hetalia and how it relates and pertains to actual history as well as the various stereotypes portrayed in the series.

This does not mean we are at all an 18+ convention. Matter of fact the only event we card for is the hentai olympics. We believe art should not be censored and because we put the schedule of events up at least one month before the con, parents have ample opportunity to talk with their kids as to what is and what is not appropriate. We would never make our con an 18+ convention because anime fans are typically mature and intelligent for their age. While they may squee and jump about over certain things, most of them are intelligent, well spoken people when you sit down and talk with them. Which is also why we have a strong belief in giving attendees the benefit of the doubt. Our security is very lax overall and we are not going to spoil your fun if we can avoid it. As long as you aren't hurting an unwilling participant or breaking hotel property, theres no reason to break up what you're doing. We are more likely to simply join in than break something up.

So if you're looking for a con thats different, fun, educational, and knows how to party, check us out. Prereg is only $25 which makes us one of the cheapest cons in the midwest. And if you want anymore info or have any questions, feel free to ask or check out our website.

Although this con is a little further than I like to travel to a con I will attend. I promise this year I will make it to at least one panel.

Already talked to you about it yesterday with Corey. I'm 90% sure I'm going. If my Disney World plans fall through, it's a for sure yes. It's also a week and some odd days before my birthday! :D

Sounds really cool. I'm curious about the Hentai Olympics. Sounds awesome! Depending on school and how things are going I could make it a road trip with some people. I want to find more cons than just ACEN to go to that are sort of close, kind of, lol. ^_^

Awesome and for what its worth to you as well our theme this year is going to be spies and espionage which will include some special stuff for shows like Ghost in the Shell. As for the hentai olympics, well...I can't really comment on them as we have a pretty strict rule about not talking about it outside the event. But it certainly is a good time and our really awesome hotel rep showed up to watch it and after about 10 minutes walked out and later told us, "Yeah I felt like it was the kinda event that was better if I didn't know what was going on in that room."

And I'm glad I convinced you of its awesomeness last night Lina, haha.

Hopefully you can make it out Kungpowkirby. Good luck finding a job. Isamu, you better make it out as you live right by it.

I can't make an excuse not to make it. 10 miles from my home, I drive further to work. I hope this year I will get to experience the party floor seeing as how certain issues kept me from it last year.

You should. We do have a free bar up there for the attendees. Plus we have some pretty cool ideas for it this year as well.

Sounds good. Last year I had a little to much fun celebrating my birthday and ended up experiencing my first hangover.

Prereg is in its last week if you still need to get your badge for cheap. I mean either way we're still one of the cheapest cons in the midwest, but no reason not to save a few more bucks.

A little over a week left and then it's party central. If anyone going is looking for a great place to eat you should try Barey's Brewhouse. It is just across the street from the convention center.

There was a lot of persuasion happening in the Anime Punch room Saturday. AP sure seems tempting ;)

Rule #1. Don't let me have any random punch...
