hey! this is going to be my first time attending Acen and the first time traveling to chicago and illnois. i live in a small town in ga, and have no clue as to how things work up there...

if someone could be so kind as to help me find a cheap hotel that is close to the con center, i would appreciate it greatly. im looking for a nice clean hotel, preferably with free continental breakfast, free wifi and a shuttle. my budget range is 100/night and under.

does anyone have any recommendations? or any kind of advice for this out of stater?

Speaking strictly as an individual and not in any official capacity, I have a hunch the only way you are going to beat that $100/night thing is by finding room-mates.

That said, from what I have seen here on the forums one of your better options might be the Embassy Suites. It's pretty close to the action, a nice place, and if I recall, serves a free or discounted breakfast to those staying at the hotel. (I normally stay at the Hyatt for a variety of reasons, and it's okay.)

As for actual prices etc., remember that ACen negotiates special room blocks with the surrounding hotels, with special prices and perks. However the actual details of each deal can only be released when the deal is done, which may not be for a while. Announcements of the various blocks opening are generally posted here on the forums so keep an eye out. ATM the only block *I know of* that is open is for the Rosemant Hyatt itself. You will need to watch and move fast as all the hotels fill up pretty quickly.

last year, my friend and I stayed at the Courtyard Marriot. It's five minutes away from the con, and they have shuttle service to and from the convention center (only downside was that we had to call them if we wanted to be picked up from the con center, but it wasn't too bad). Unfortunately, they don't have free breakfast unless you get the breakfast rate (which means that breakfast is included with your room) Rates are $89/night, and $99/night for the breakfast rate, which might be pushing your budget a bit, but it's worth it. The have free wi-fi, free parking, and a pool! It was nice and clean (not to mention quiet lol) Hope this helps :)
