Just like this past Acen I will be having a dinner get together. Friday May 20 at Gibson's Steakhouse. The place ain't cheap but I feel you should treat yourself to a least one good meal during Acen. anyone interested can post on this thread. We started at a smaller table and then was told some more people were coming. So we took a bigger table only to find out the other people changed their mind. We ended up costing the waiter about $100 in tips.

Ok, so here is how it played out. There was four of us to start so we sat at a table for four. Then we were told three more was coming so we needed to move to a bigger table. Our waiter gave us a table that they were just about to seat a group of eight at. That said group ended up being seated in another waiters area which in turn cost our waiter at least $100 in tips.

Unfortunately, that's part of being a server though. While I'm sure this server has encountered it before, and yes I feel bad for the guy, I wouldn't blame yourself too much over it. Especially when they're not going to remember the group from a year ago.

I'm fine with Gibson's though personally, and with it's location being in very close walking distance (though I certainly don't want to walk) it makes it a lot more possible for me to go there.

I just have no idea what to get D:

Its about a 5-7 minute walk from the Hyatt. You head north up past the hyatt, cross the street and pass the Embassy and it's on your left as I recall.

My husband and I are planning a dinner at Gibsons to have a late B-day celebration for us Both our birthdays are at the end of April and we thought it would be fun to try a fancy steak place in Chicago this year! So count us in for sure And put down 3 for maybe's if the rest of our friends decide to come along as well

One Question though, I was looking at the menu online and it doesn't say how big the steaks are on the menu.... Can you tell me if you know? And if you have any recommendations on the sides that would be awesome to!

What time are you planning to make the reservation for??

Steak portions are pretty big. I recommend the mushrooms for the side and one portion will feed two. Thinking 9pm Friday. Also, as far as dessert is concerned, one piece of cake is bigger than any steak they serve.
