I was just curious because i didnt see anything against them but dont want to wear them as part of my airgear cosplay if i am just gonna get told to take them off

While I am not on IRT, I can tell you the hotel(s) would not approve of them.

yeah...hotels wouldnt allow anything that would damage anything and roller blades are terrible on floors...if you were just carrying them it would be fine, but if you wore them....yeah thats a problem, don't expect them to be ok in the exhibit hall either even though its just concrete floor.

You can always wear them in a photoshoot. A lot of the photoshoots are outside to unless it rains (God forbid) and photoshoots are where you cosplay counts most.

Another alternative to actual rollerblades are to make a cutout of the sides of rollerblades and tape/glue them to the sides of your choice of footwear. this will give your photos the illusion that you are wearing rollerblades while...not.

Just to give an official answer:
Please don't make us actually have to make a rule against rollerblading.
We don't mind it outside (as long as you're mindful and careful, which is really hard to do at a con as crowded as ACen), but inside rollerblading is not allowed.

Oh man, it's almost as if most of the ACen rules are simply the decisions you'd make if you have common sense.
What's your stance on loud fireworks?

Last year at Acen, while I was standing in line to get my tickets for the con. I did see someone had on a pair of inline skates on. Someone from the IRT made him put on his regular shoes. So I will say no.

XD Would it be okay if we locked the wheels? It'd be just another pair of shoes...with wheels on the bottoms. : \ The way I see it, wheels would be less damaging to the floors than, say, needle stilettos which I've seen some girls wear before >< But then again I know next to nothing :\

Unfortunately, I think the hotel would still have issues with that. There are still places that don't allow "wheelie" shoes, locked or unlocked, because of the damage they can cause to floors. (Plus, take it from a woman - stiletto heels still have a type of material on the sole and heel that prevents damage. Wheels don't have this luxury.) You'd be better off keeping the blades off while indoors.

To be clear, even if the wheels are locked, the hotel's policy prevents them inside and, for consistency's sake, I'm going to say that they aren't allowed in the convention center either. Sorry.

I just wouldn't wear them. You shouldn't do anything that can possibly injure any con goers. Or yourself for that matter...
