I'll be mad if they aren't gonna sell them!....i just want my yuri...not like i smack ppl with...i buy it then put it in my room and threaten my roommates if they touch it then their gonna get smacked with the other one XD that hidden secretly under my pillows.

Last year, they were sold but had to be taken to your room. I didn't hear about any problems, so I doubt that they will be COMPLETELY banned until Acen is given a reason to do it.

Yaoi and yuri paddles were banned in 2009 during the convention due to rampant misuse. They were no longer banned in 2010 and they are not banned in 2011.

If people misuse them, they fall under "misuse of a prop" and will be dealt with accordingly.

Please don't make us ban them again.

Otakon, for sure. I believe anime expo as well. I saw one at NYAF, but I believe it is outlawed there as well.

It's banned at A LOT of cons. People just get too irresponsible with them.

I think that the paddles need to be banned. A couple years ago I was at acen and some witch hit me with it once. I was within three seconds of ending her.

As I've said, that year, we did ban them as a result of the rampant misuse.

The next year we unbanned them and things seemed to be just fine. They will continue to be unbanned.

If we see rampant misuse again, we will most likely* ban them again, probably permanently. Please don't try to push the issue this year.

* I say "most likely" because I am not the person who gets to make this decision.

2009 was the year that the ban was officially implemented. (2008 being the problem-child year.) It was after that year that the ban was lifted.

I never understood the whole thing about the paddles, is it supposed to be some play on sado masechism? I know what the meaning of the word but never understood why it was soo popular to go around with a glorified canoe oar and smack people with it willingly or not. I never got hit with one though came close to letting my cousin hit me with one and then I hit him with one in kind, but didnot. heck I could make the things they not be official but I do woodworking with oak, could make a big one called the hand of justice thought about it, but as a hardcore catholic my brain would think better of makeing such things, for the nature of what they are, and it would be a waste of good oak that could be used to make a clock or shelf which I could sell for 5 times more or better.

I am indifferant to the issue, so long as no one hits me but so if they do I can say my props are made very solid of forementioned oak and are quite capable of beating someone back, I say dont ban if people do it willingly and ask, I hope this will hit the issue off with this topic.
