Since Capcom had a chance to revamp the whole roster with a new engine and building characters from scratch, I am disappoint that some old MVC1&2 still made it.
Sure those characters were barely relevant at the time of those old Capcom vs series but not now.
They need to put in characters prominent in each company's universe and not characters prominent in just the MvC history.
It's kinda like putting Jigglypuff in further installments of SSB.
I know Jigglypuff has a huge fanbase and they will riot if she's not in the game but, c'mon, lets be real.
She was just a developer shortcut (or idea block) in the first game and was put into the next 2 games for the sake of tradition and lols.

MODOK, She-Hulk, and X-23 look FUN and UNIQUE to say the least (just imagine MODOK, Arthur, and Storm as a zoning team -shudder-). Which is kinda funny because for Marvel's side of MVC, they're going for who's popular in the comics right now, thus I think why everyone is upset about the character selection for MVC3. Everoyne was assuming they were going for the movies and cartoons.

Silver Surfer was originally planned for MVC3 but they couldn't figure out how to use his surfboard for the game. Which is kinda funny because for Marvel's side of MVC, they're going for who's popular in the comics right now, thus I think why everyone is upset about the character selection for MVC3. Everoyne was assuming they were going for the movies and cartoons.

Yeah, apparently his moveset was taking too much time to do so they put him on the backburner for now. Ghost Rider also had the same problem as Surfer did due to the dev team finding it difficult to incorporate his bike into the game.

I remember the Silver surfer thing as well as the reason why a lot of bad guys didn't make it in the final game; they were trying to not offend anyone.

Hard to incorporate the motorcycle. Just make it a super move. Ghost Rider can fight on his feet.

That's actually a terrible comparison because Jigglypuff's role in the game is to be used as a counter pick to strong air fighters, because she has the highest air attack speed in the game. =D

Technically, yes. She was made into a very useful character.
Aesthetically, she's meh.

You can play any game in any way you want even if that method wasn't the creator's original intention.
Let's play MvC2 as a drinking game in order to get wasted. Why not? I bought the game. I want to play it the way I want.
All games can be competitive especially if the end objective requires a winner and a loser.
But in the end, ALL video games are made for fun. They're video games.
I'm sure the creators of MvC3 won't give a crap if their game is or isn't played in tourneys. As long as they can make more money.

The problem is a lot of Brawl fans (Melee is the old one ne? I get confused because I didn't own a Gamecube,) are Stop having fun guys. This happened in Guilty gear for a second as well when Ky/Sol became like unstoppable top tier. So a lot of SSBB fans simply either think ABC character is too cheap and should be banned, ABC character is too strong with final smash and so no final smash, or ABC map is cheap so not that map, or MY WAY IS ALL I GOT A BAZOOKA. My ex friend was a SHFG who basically used Game and watch and kept saying, "FINAL DESTINATION, NO ITEMS," until we revolted and he put on items only to keep using GaW very hard smash on very bad maps....

Whoops got off tangent, but yeah I agree, you should just have fun and try to be open minded about this game and other games. If you like using one character don't pound it in the head to the next person. I had this issue with TVC and pray that it doesn't happen in this game if I picked Joe or whoever.

God anytime at a convention where I was 1 v. 1 a person the fudge packer always did that, as though it was a wired reflex into their subconsious. I left after a few rounds because, even though I haven't really played in like a year I'm like "Yeah, whatever dude."

At the very least throw Delfino Plaza every once in a while. I liked that map.
