Been listening to This and this for ~25 minutes now, and am nostalgia-ing HARD. The first one was and still is my favorite game ever.

Sega just announced Shenmue City, an MMO for the Japanese about a month ago. Fans of the game have been hoping for a sequel for years. Maybe we can renew those hopes, especially with the trend of reviving old game franchises going on?

It would also be cool to see the first two ported to the PS3/360/Wii online stores, and that way maybe you could actually play through both and have it be relevant (meaning your money, items and collectibles actually transfer over).

I never personally got the appeal of Shenmue. I remember trying to play it on at least 3 different occasions and they all ultimately ended up in me spending all day buying toys. One time I really gave it my all. I was like no toys, I'm going to find out who killed my dad. Screw you toys, I don't need you. And I made a few days progress, but just got kinda bored with it. I don't know, I hear a lot of people hail it as a great game. Maybe it just wasn't for me.

Shenmue was a very realistic game. Especially for the end of the 90's.

It's utterly stunning that Tony Jaa supposedly has no formal training in Muay Thai. He does it so well.

LMAO.

i genuinely and absolutely loved shenmue.
i think it's an amazing game if you just enjoy it for as a city-life-simulation game and don't expect this kung-fu action epic.

I tried getting into the game. It's more like it should have been a movie but was considered one of the best for the Dreamcast.

You are now aware that the entire fight scene was done without switching cameras.

I think I was aware when I first saw the scene.

That movie had one of the coolest fight scenes ever.

Imagine.

Shenmue 3.

With the combat system of Yakuza 2 (and its sequels).

I'd buy 10.

I remember playing Shenmue on a friend's Dreamcast. That game was fun.

I remember in Shenmue 2 getting husstled in darts.

This is a clip of Dou Niu from Shenmue 2, the ruthless leader of the Yellow Head organisation who likes to dangle kids off the edge of tall buildings.
