I just bought a wig for my Kaoru cosplay, and I bout it shoulder length so I had something to work with.

Does anyone know how I can style it? This is my first wig and I'm not sure if there's something I should know before going at it. And any tips on how to get the kaoru hairstlye on it would be nice too. Thanks.

...also, unless the wig is heat resistant. you might want to avoid using any irons on it (low settings might be ok, but can still melt the wig)

The Wig can't handle heat, but maybe we can use the melting to help mold it.

The gel Got2b Glued will help especially if you want to get his bang pointing straight up like in the anime. That stuff does wonders!!!!!!

yeah, i'd definitely use got2b glued ^^ i got mine at walmart, and it's around $5 maybe? (it's been two years so i don't remember the exact price)

when i cosplayed as roxas, i used this wig so if you need help with how to do spikes, i can give ya a few pointers ^^

but yeah, if you plan to gel each individual spike, use a blow dryer cuz it'll make the waiting time a lot shorter!

Yes you can use the hair dry but put it on LOW! DONT HAVE IT HOT! Or it will melt the fiber and cause a terrible consequence because a melted wig is a bad wig. there's a product from Got2b glued which is their "ultra" and its the same price as the original and it's even more intense, and it WORKS. In addition with the gel for each spike get some cheap super hold hair spray and spray it. Then when you have the entire thing styled, make sure you lather the wig in hairspray, for super hold!

~But be careful with spikes...because if they hit you in the eye, they hurt! XD

Id probably go with the Got2B Freeze Spray for that rather than the Glued. The spray is great for shorter wigs and would give you a more natural looking spike rather than a shiny glued one.

for me, i used the got2b glued AND the spray. i used the glued for styling and then put the spray as a finishing touch for make sure that the wig as a whole would hold up. the glued is good for placing the individual spikes, but in my opinion, the spray keeps all the spikes in their place.

also, if you want to go for "fluffier" spikes (ones that aren't as stiff), then i'd suggest using a little bit of glued to shape/hold the spikes together at the tips, and then use the spray to make sure it stays.

I tend to use the Glued when styling a wig like Axel's(KH2)because his hair is long and the Glued seems to hold better. If Im doing something like Roxas or Sora, Ill go with the Freeze Spray because the hair is short and the spray can hold it, and it looks fluffy still. To finish off a wig, Ill use a small dab of craft glue (that dries clear) on the ends to hold them together.

Our local WalMart even had a separate display set out with got2be stuff specifically for Halloween... So hopefully they should still have a bunch.
