Humbling video game anniversaries 25 years of NES, 10 years of PS2...

The PS2 was released in the US about ten years ago. I'd become a fan of the inexpensive, often varied PS1 library, but I held off on buying the PS2 for a while. Overall, I wasn't ecstatic about the PS2, but it had an impressive variety of games. I skipped all the serious military games, and ignored most of the 3D action games. Most of my favorite PS2 titles were not best sellers, but tended to be cute, slow, or niche.
So that's my opinion. Have you realized that some of your favorite games and systems are reaching milestone anniversaries? If so, how did you feel about them back in the day, and how do you feel about them now?

Aside from that... it's crazy to realize that some of my favorite games have milestone anniversaries. Dragon Quest 8 and We Love Katamari are at the five year mark. And it's been fifteen years since Chrono Trigger.

In that span, my family had probably 4 of them red ring. That's almost one a year, the most recent being mine about a month before the launch of Halo: Reach.

Do you have the yellow cartridge? It's pretty sweet. I also have the gold cartridge of Ocarina of time too.
DK 64 was such a fun game. Long, but that's what made it fun. There was ALWAYS something to do in that game. I HATED getting those stupid banana fairies!!!!! >///< lol.

I don't have the game anymore which is lame but wouldn't be hard to pick one up. But yea those Banana Fairies were really freaking annoying.
