Ill post a poll up tomorrow. Im torn as to which one to attend. But it is happening. I may go to the 7:30 one just for the evening, then hang out and have dinner and rest at a hotel. So what say you guys?

Well its been confirmed that there will be a Final Fantasy Distant World concert in Chicago. It will be at a new location, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra! Its starts on Sunday, June 26, 2011. There will be two shows! One starts at 2:30 pm and the second one starts at 7:30. TICKETS GO ON SALE TOMORROW! We can have two meetups for this! One for those attending the 2:30 show and one for the 7:30. This is really nice. It will be downtown in the summer Ill post a poll up tomorrow. Im torn as to which one to attend. But it is happening. I'll def go!!! but there's 2 concerts, 2 decisions to make. I'll decide on whichever to go depending on everyone's responses and when a final decision is made.

Looking into it, the performance is still the Chicagoland Pops, they are just renting the CSO space for this event.
I loved attending this the first time it came to chicag (well technically Rosemont)

ugh, i can't believe i blew my chance to meet nobuo during the december concert! i had connections with people in the orchestra and i could've met him during intermission but me and my friends stood in line to buy shirts instead >_________________< gaaaaaaaah why did i skip out on that once-in-a-lifetime chance?!?!?! *sulks in a corner* TT__________TT

I went last December, and it was absolutely spellbinding. Gotta admit, I got a little misty eyed when they played Memoro de la Stono (g/f actually cried xD ) I hadn't been in a concert with orchestral elements since high school (and I was the one leading the Viola section at the time), and it inspired me to pick up a Viola again ...
Probably the best night I've ever had in recent memory. A nice evening, nice dinner, and a concert with the g/f. Even if it was during finals period during my first semester of law school, it was a welcome respite.

Anyone going to this and want to get tickets close or next to each other? I doubt any of my friends are going to it...so just wondered if anyone wants to go with me/next to me/close to me. I haven't purchased my ticket yet....but I'm getting around to it.

Yeah, I was at both concerts. It was a blast! There were some repeats and they played music from FFX which none were played in the 2:30 show. It was funny when playing Vamo alla Flamenco, the guitarist started playing too late, and Arnie stopped the orchestra and started over. But yeah, OWA karaoke was fun; didn't think the audience was loud enough.

How many people knew the words anyway at the start? It did get louder as OWA went on though. Next time they come through it should be better. Also at the 2:20 show dancing mad was sooo worth it. Now if we could just get the chocobo race song from ff7.
