You can pull that off while being tied up and at the mercy of yaoi fangirls? Impressive.

If you end up getting a hotel room at the Hyatt, don't bother with the elevator. Just use the stairs.

If you're on the ninth floor, you may want to just take the elevator.

Well, it really depends on when; I was more thinking Friday/ Saturday night, when it's absolute insanity by the elevators.

It's always insanity by the elevators. It's why I no longer stay at the Hyatt, between their ridiculously high prices and the random drunks knocking on your door at 3 AM, asking where the party is.

I have, two years in a row. I started staying at the Doubletree after that. It's cheaper, quieter, and the rooms are bigger. The only drawback is that the staff isn't as understanding as the Hyatt's when it comes to anime fans. The Doubletree staff always acts like it smells crap whenever you ask them for anything, like say, an extra pillow.

Maybe it's just the kinda unique way the hyatt is set up that makes it more problematic (and that I don't stay in the main area of the room.) But two years in a row is pretty amazing, considering how many rooms there are.

Know that I'll put a stop to such thing if I ever encounter it.

I'm sorry you haven't had the best experience with the other hotels. :[ I've never had issues with most hotels, but maybe that's because I don't look like the typical anime fan.

The other hotels are fine (except last year, when the Embassy was set on fire). It's the Hyatt I had problems with. I don't know if the Hyatt's gotten any better, but its higher prices are going to keep me away from it.

Staying at one of the other hotels just means I get to walk a extra block. No biggie. Keeps me in shape.

I always try to stay at a hotel that the con has a contract with. You help out the convention by giving them sold room nights which helps ease their bill and allow them to have more perks for the following years.

As for ACen, I typically stay at the Hyatt because I like being in the con hotel. It makes things so much easier if I need to run back to my room really quick and because we do like to party as well, its a location everyone is already at and its easy to get people to attend.

Because people assume there's a fire when they see smoke?

If I remember correctly, something started smoking. I don't remember if there was an actual fire, but if there was, nobody set it. I believe there was some kind of malfunction in something....

There was smoke from a malfunction of something. There was no fire. :]

Speaking of, for advice, please be nice to the fire marshall/s should you happen to run in to them.

I believe they said it was a malfunctioning generator. It accidently got turned on/kicked on, and since it was broken it started to smoke and all. Thats what my group was told when we asked a hotel person upon check out.

Though over all the Embassy is my favorite hotel for Acen so far. I really like the hot deluxe breakfast you get. Not having to deal with the crowds that are always around at the Hyatt is also a bonus for me :) The staff has always been real nice and very prompt when i have asked for towels, extra blanket, or pillow :D
