About us: College club but anyone can come and sit in the meetings. Currently we have anywhere from 15-25 regulars showing up each week. Doesn't matter when you show up or when you leave. We are 99% subtitles for what we watch, and what mostly shounen, sometimes gory and/or ecchi stuff, action/comedy with the occasional drama or live action, but general stay away from hentai. Are long standing tradition is to start with Bleach and End with One Piece (we have grown more and more fond of OP over the last few years). Past series include: FMA, Baccano, Ouran, Beck, Gantz, Black Cat, Chii's Sweet Home, Akihabara@Deep, Train Man, Basilisk, Azumanga Daioh, Slayers, Outlaw Star, Mushishi, Dokuro-chan, aaaannddd lots of other stuff because we've been around since late 2001 when I first showed my own DVDs of Trigun and Evangelion. (I was personally putting flyers up for one of our first meetings back when 9/11 happened.)
We pretty much stick to just watching anime (you WILL be shushed if you talk too much/loudly during an episode), so some people like to sit out in the lobby area to chat while waiting for the show they really want to watch to come on. We have general chatting time at the start and end of things as we set-up/take-down equipment, with any news/announcements shared before we start the first series of the night, of which we show one ep each of 6-8 series.
We organize "All-Day" events a few times a year which usually involves one room for showing random new shows (which we usually pull replacement series for normal meets based on response) and movies and another room for video gaming. We also go to some conventions together, mostly Acen and Ohayocon, sometimes Youmacon, several of us are staff at Ikasucon, and many of us con-going regulars love to cosplay.
How to Join: Just show up. There's no fees, no requirements. 18+ preferred but if you're under 18 or still in highschool, while we aren't responsible for you, we also won't kick you out if you behave. Must be an enrolled student to be considered for one of our officer positions.
Contact: Please use the links above. =D

Location: Loyola University Chicago Lake Shore Campus(It's right off the Red Line El stop named after it)
Time and Place: Fridays 5:00-9:00PM during the school year, Quinlan Life Science Building Auditorium
Website: None currently
Description: Technically only open to students, though we generally let non-students attend because we have about 30-40 regulars, so no ones gonna notice. Please contact us beforehand though, we can't have too many non-students showing up, and know that we will kick you out for misbehaving. We've had campus security escort students out before. Also note, no hentai or even most ecchi will be allowed. We watch a full season of a different anime, preferably one that isn't something everyone's seen like Evangelion or Cowboy Bebop, each semester. This semester we are watching Darker Than Black. Since that obviously can't pad out 4 hours a week, we also have one member each week choose an anime they like and show a few episodes and each month pick a member to come up with a theme and give a full meeting presentation on anime that follows that theme/genre/etc(former examples include: "Giant Robots 101: Real vs Super Robots", "The Supernatural in Anime", "CLAMP"). Besides watching anime, we normally fool around a bit too, doing stuff like playing Mafia/Werewolf, watching YouTube/NicoNico videos, etc. Outside of meetings we have larger events, and this year they include holiday parties, a maid/host cafe, a game of Humans vs Zombies and a Satoshi Kon Week that will be open to the campus and the public.

Planning meetings and showings alternate from week to week (1st week-mtg, 2nd week-showing, 3rd-mtg,...). Ohayocon used to be our main

This club has been on hiatus for the past 2 years because of construction I've been doing on my house. But the work is now done and I am ready to start hosting viewings again. The problem is, our group used a yahoo.group of which I was the administrator and I have forgotten both the user account and password I used for it. When I try to get it sent to me it sends it to my old netscape email address which does not exist anymore.
So I am sending out a notice to all NoSCAMS members and anyone else in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago who would like to join the fun of a day long anime viewing, please contact me and we will get things going again.

We have screenings every week (except for college breaks) in Stuart 102 on the UofC campus from 7 to 10 pm. We're mostly comprised of university students but we're open to the community so please stop by!
We're getting better at updating our websites but for general reference check our PBworks
We host weekly screenings and the series change about every eleven weeks. We host events like garden party in the autumn which is a fun little meet and greet. We are responsible for UCHI-CON which happens on campus every year and is always FREE. UCHICON usually happens last week of January but be sure to check our website around that time to check out the paneling, screening and general events schedule. In spring we form a skit group that performs at ACEN's masquerade every year, as well as help with your cosplay when we're not buried under skit props. So stop by if you're in the neighborhood ^__^.
If you're interested in joining you can contact us through our facebook

Some of our members are from gaming clans, so we also do a lot of gaming.
