Heyyy~
Not sure if this is the right forum to put this in, but it isn't cosplay and not necessarily ACen related, sooooo here we go :D
Are there any other cybergoths out there? xD I have only one other friend who is into the style and I think he's starting to hate me because I'm talking about it so much. So if anyone else is into this style I'd like to know! :D

Umm...yeah, thanks!
And if you clicked on this and don't care at all about anything I just said, here's something for people who like pugs, and batman, and pugs that sing about batman:

Yeah I've seen some at the con before but never get to talking with 'em.
It'd be cool to see a photoshoot! I hope you get that done one of these days

Haha gotta stay true to yourself. I'm sure it will be awesome when you do it though! I really like your photos, plus I was browsing through your acen stuff and found some pictures of me and my friends at the soapbubble-awesomeness. :D

But I know what you mean! I'm so excited for next year, I can hardly stand it xD

Massive lol attack at that word.

I'll never understand why people wear the facemasks either - it looks so stupid.

I can understand why the kandi kids do, but not other people.

I'll never understand why people feel the need to question what other people like in the opinion spectrum...

also, it's a chin spoiler... not a face mask, I need to down force or my massive chin will use the airflow against me and lift me off the ground

I like what I like... and other people like what they like... and I will not agree with what others like just the same as others won't agree on what I like... it's what makes the world go around

But hey! It's nice to see other people who are into the style! Nice to meet you and junk~
It's sad that work makes people dress differently, but...that's what weekends are for, yeah?

Cybergoth is actually this.

And it isn't even goth at all(okay...sliiightly). It is derived from goth musics cousin: industrial overpowered with dance music. There's a handful of goth genre's and determining what is what depends on the music and clothing(if you want to generalize it that way).

Anywho, the point was who cares about what you wear. I used to be a member of the goth community years back for the longest time and dressed in all black and dark purple (not really on purpose lol it was just what I liked) and listened to gothic music amongst many other genres of music. Now I'm more of a rivethead than anything in goth genres  Industrial music FTW!

What bands do you like?

I know what cybergoth is, I was just questioning his picture because it doesn't look cybergoth at all since it seemed like he was implying that his outfit was, but thanks for posting that~! :D

As for the bolded part, I didn't know that! That's a very interesting tidbit! :)

I used to be too. Wore black and red, black and blue and well, black with any bright color and mostly tripp pants (they aren't worth the money because they shrink like crazy. I had to get rid of 90% of them because they shrank). My style varies. It depends on what I feel like wearing. lol

I listen to basically anything that makes me want to get up and dance! :happydance: I've been listening to a lot of Electronica lately. Eisenfunk is amazing.

I've been listening to a lot of bands from Germany. They make great music! :D

Oh! Ok. Sorry! XDDD

Yup yup! I've been listening to Eisenfunk lately. My friend introduced them to me a while ago and I can't stop listening to them. Equilibrium is another favorite of mine. I love music~.

I know this is slightly off topic, but have you ever heard any of the Rammstein + T.A.T.U remixes that were done by a Russian DJ called Muffin? They're pretty awesome.

it is where the outfit is derived from, then I fine tuned everything to what I think my style is... I just do not imply colors at all.. black looks the best on me

cybergoth does not necessarily have to imply colors... the mask idea, goggles and contacts are derivatives from the genre, I wear black military BDU's tucked into BATES combat boots and usually DON shirtless because I can pull it off... or an open formal calvien klein "classic" style overcoat... and either sport a face mask or a full on gas mask

if you would not call that the closest to cybergoth I guess you can say I just am very original then... the look is highly influenced by cybergoth and visual kei though, I just choose to leave the colors out and wanted to give credit to the genres that needed the credit

So your outfit is just a jacket, pants and a face mask? Doesn't look much like cybergoth to me. No offense. I just don't see cybergoth. I see, well, a guy wearing everyday clothes with a facemask.

LOL, normal everyday clothes huh? I'd hate to see you as a school teacher

what you choose to see is of no concern to what it was influenced by... and without Cybergoth/V. Kei it would not have a genre at all because it's the closest match

you would be surprised how many outlandish outfits incorporate "normal everyday clothes"... and mixing grotesque/out there accessories with formal/top notch clothing from "normal everyday" stores makes for a better impression on the point than just going all out in dress... personal style/touch goes a long way in having a finished product as well

these genre probing "he said/she said" discussions bore me anyways... keep it on topic

Well, I'm not one so it doesn't even matter. I just see jeans and a jacket. You just wear a tank top and jeans every day (according to your pictures in another thread) so it just looks like what you normally wear minus the tank top.

I've seen people put together outfits with everyday clothing. I have done it myself. Yours doesn't look cybergoth. Adding a facemask doesn't make it cybergoth. If I google cybergoth, I won't find pictures of outfits like yours. I'm sorry, but I just don't see it.

I'm not trying to argue and that's not my intent. I'm just saying that I just don't see how you can call your outfit cybergoth. That's all. No need to have an attitude.

and this is why you cannot make assumptions... you do not even take the time to see what the outfit consists of, you just see a facemask and a chance to start up a debate with someone who enjoys them

there is nothing very "jeans" about my bottom... they are baggy canvased military grade BDU's and they are tucked into calf high military boots

and the "jacket" was influenced by a Visual Kei outfit I took a liking to

http://img443.images...6001200fk4.jpg/

and my hair is also loosely styled off of that as well... I just cut it shorter and continue the hawk down the back of my neck

please note that Visual Kei is heavily influenced by western cyber goth/cyber punk and glam rock

I would take the time to learn the genre before you make assumptions on it by looking on google and wikipedia

I made a warning already about your post context. Please adhere to it or it's a suspension. I understand making an explanation but there is no reason to verbally beat it into someone. If you do not genuinely know how to I'd be glad to show you.

Your are starting to make myself and Thumper angry. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to ask.

Thank you

I know this is slightly off topic, but have you ever heard any of the Rammstein + T.A.T.U remixes that were done by a Russian DJ called Muffin? They're pretty awesome.

I don't know about them being done by a DJ. I thought that Tatu and Rammstein only did one song together= Moscow but I could be wrong. I need to look that up because I loooove that song.

Anywho when it comes to goth wear to define yourself into a category you have to take into two things: Your attitude and the music you live your life by. Yes you can be bright and colorful and whatever, but you don't necessarily have to. The clothes are just an expression of the two. But here is the trick: You don't have to define yourself to a name/group. I wouldn't exactly call Morbids wear exclusively cybergoth. It has elements of cybergoth and a few goth groups so honestly I wouldn't use that wear as a prime example to show what cybergoth is, but it doesn't matter. lol

It's all about the music <3

If you've ever seen any AMVs done to a song called "Odno I To Zhe," that's one of the remixes (there are a lot of amvs done to that song; it's kinda crazy).

And there's the problem: I kinda live under a rock when it comes to music, and I don't like drawing attention to myself. My wardrobe consists exclusively of denim and cool colors (blue, purple and black, mostly). ><
