My friends and I are going to be in our lolita dresses Saturday of the convention!
I'm going as a Sweet Lolita~ cupcakes...YUM! Hahahaha!

Well, Acen 2011 is pretty far away, and most lolitas (at least in the Chicago area) are more concerned with the upcoming Kollisionkon and usual meet ups. I hope that I can go this year, but I mostly cosplay. You ought to join the other lolita communities, if you haven't already:

EGL - the most active
The Chicago area lolita community - we also have a facebook page
A lolita community made specifically for ACen - it's not active much now; just wait until around February and people should be posting more

I'll definitely be there in lolita. I plan on dressing in lolita for two of the days I'm there. If my second Hetalia cosplay doesn't pull together, it'll be three, including Thursday night.

-gasp- Deleciel, you're going to ACen?! I'm missyasogami on the egl forums. I nearly cried when I got the blouse in the mail. It's beautiful.

I'm putting together my first lolita coord this year. I'm super excited. It's going to be sweet lolita. I can't wait! (also disregard my sn, it's not what you think. haha)

A pseudo-pot luck/picnic may be fun (weather permitting!). Stuff like finger sandwiches and what not would be nice depending on how many people would should show up. I'll be bringing a cooler or two to begin with to keep fruit and what not in my room, but we'll also have a fridge so I could prepare sandwiches or other things and then bring a picnic basket if others are willing to participate!

Sorry, I'm a big dork who likes planning things. I just planned my massive 21st birthday party and it went smoothly despite the 100 or so people there. Everyone had a wonderful time and it was fun : ) So I think I'm in a "planning" type of mood!

Fantastic! If I can arrange a pot-luck, I'll have a list of who is bringing what (once we have more participants) and I can try to get some blankets and picnic baskets. I thankfully have a car and will be there on Thursday evening so either that night or Friday I can get what I need.

Just to let you know, there is usually someone who hosts a meet up on Acen Sunday that involves a picnic lunch and swapping/buying clothes from each other. Do you know a girl named Shannon? She's originally from Illinois but moved to Michigan and she hosted the meet up last year. I doubt that anyone has discussed such plans yet, but I'd check Acen_gosurori and Chigothloli on livejournal for Acen meets.

You can try to host a pot luck during the weekend, but it's best to do it as a private RSVP party. Be sure to follow your hotel's rules - room parties can get wild, and you really don't want a bunch of random-hungry congoers barging in for free food (that is, if your room is within the con's vicinity). I know for sure that Acen is still having trouble with serving foods at panels/programs (i.e: maid cafe).

And a heads up, the majority of lolitas attending will be in cosplay for the first two days.

Thank you for the heads up : ) I checked Acen-gosurori and someone mentioned that they will not be able to host the meet-up? I'm not sure if that is Shannon, I don't know her, but I'd be willing to organize something if there would be enough interest.

I've always liked the idea of a sunday lunch/pot luck thing. Being as busy as the weekend can be there are a lot of things to do on Saturday and not so much to do on sundays. I would really like to go to a meet-up myself because I couldn't go to the last few ones.

Also, an idea about the food thing. There were other years I saw it was planned to meet somewhere inside the hotel but (weather permitting) they moved outside for a picnic I think?

Sunday would be a good idea since there really is less going on. I think a picnic would be more fun. My hotel is further away from the con hotels so it would be inconvenient to do it in my room. A picnic would be fun because we could have a designated area for photos/food. Mostly, I just like having an excuse to make cupcakes and cucumber sandwiches (my favorite!)

I think sunday is a good/best day. I know I am a loli that cosplays and I know I am not alone. And there are some nice areas outside of the hyatt for a picnic!

I will be in loli all weekend, but I definitely understand that many of the lolitas go in cosplay and save their outfits for meet ups and what not. I definitely don't want to take that away from anyone : ) Hell, I'd be in cosplay if I found a character I wanted to cosplay, but unfortunately I have fallen somewhat out of the anime scene : (

It fits me a little big in the waist but the waist ties are awesome, luckily had enough room for my bust,though. I did! Sent your letter today
