It's a very simple cosplay (and I apologize for the shirtlessness), my wife who fell in love with the game declared I am the only man thin enough to do him justice so she demands it. My big problem with it of course is the GIANT S&W 500 revolver he carries around. It's about the only definitive part of his outfit, and I have no idea how to go about purchasing a cosplay safe weapon. I was wondering if anyone had tips or resources for it?

I can of course go without the revolver and I am tempted to walk that rout, but if it's like a kiddy toy gun with an orange tip is it okay? How about airsoft with NO AMMO AT ALL anywhere near the convention. I have no interest in guns or such, just on an accurate and safe cosplay and the last thing I want is to upset people or the police for my quest to be a good cosplay. So anyone on staff or who has done weapons before, any advice?

sadly there is a rule for realistic weapons
blue guns are cool
but it doesnt look like they have anything like what you need
are you any good at carving

You could always vaccum form a light weight prop to any color.

I think that it can be painted as long as it remains obvious that it's made out of wood.
