One of my friends ran the Maid Cafe at Katsucon in 2009. It went well, and everyone enjoyed themselves, even if it was alot of hard, hard work. I was supposed to be a butler that year, too ... Then I got pneumonia. I'm down for fulfilling that role once again, though.

If anyone needs help setting up or organizing a maid cafe, I would highly suggest contacting her (through me, of course).

There is no masquerade ball this year. I'm pretty sure the surrounding hotels have the same rules is that they have the exclusive right to sell and serve food in the hotel function rooms.

A friend and I were just talking about how there should be a Maid Cafe in the city, so this would be PERFECT. I'd love to work as a maid too, especially with the "boobie lady" title being given to me. (Yes, I would unfortunately be THAT female character with the giant chest... >.>) Think of how many people would love it at ACEN, it's something different.

Perhaps this is a bit unrelated, but our new group, epiKaos, is hosting a Maid and Butler Cafe on the 30th of June.

Our site is under construction, but there is a form to apply to be a maid/butler. (www.epikaos.com)

We already have a venue, an absolutely gorgeous restaurant on the South Side of Chicago (right off the Metra Electric, so it's really easy to get to). Not kidding, the place is beautiful! It is a Thai, Japanese, and Chinese restaurant with some really delicious sushi. Food is all made to order.

(If you know anyone else who would like to be a Maid/Butler, would you please send them to the site too? Plus, we want to hear your event ideas!)

I helped set up the Maid Cafe at Anime Milwaukee this past year and the year before (I was also a maid myself... aiyoh). Sooooo, here's my shameless plug: Since some of you seem so interested in being maids/butlers, if you're near the Milwaukee area, why not think about joining our volunteer maid staff for next year?

We're only just beginning to plan, so I don't have a lot of information yet, but you can always PM me if you're interested! Thanks~!

Also, a maid cafe at Acen would be nice if it can be pulled off. It's difficult with the food licensing (believe me - I know!). And it gets crazy busy! But it's worth it, because my experience at Anime Milwaukee was a lot of fun!

All ages are invited to visit the cafe, but 18+ to be a maid/butler. Thanks for asking! (18+ by June 30th of this year.)

I'd love to see a maid cafe with a Chobits theme - all the maids and butlers would be persocoms with those cute little ears. Heehee. Something a little different, at least, but still a maid cafe.

I would be all for volunteering at a Maid Cafe hosted by ACen, but probably not until next year. This is only my second ACen (and my third time going to a Con) and I would really like to experience it a little more before I am tied down to a specific area ^-^

There's a resteraunt at the convention center that would be PERFECT to host a Maid Cafe. Its location is great, there's tons of space to have maids running around and it would BOOM their business. It was some sort of restaurant over by where the Bleach photo-shoot was. I ate there with a few friends of mine and was talking about this to other con attendees. I got some opinions on it and a lot of people said they'd love to see a maid cafe and were wondering why as large of a convention as we are, dont we host one? At least one day for a Maid Cafe would be great! =D We could have people work like a 2 hour shift before switching people so they can still get enough of working at a maid cafe and then enjoy the rest of the con later in the day. Or even just a cosplay cafe! Where Cosplay characters serve you Maids would get more fan service from men though xD ACEN STAFF, try to work towards getting a maid cafe going! =D I'd definitely work for it Oh and Kokoro-san! I agree with your chobits themed cafe, that's REALLY CUTE. I'd do it ^//^
