Can my cosplay group be a guest?

Well i want to discuss having a mini panel for cosplay tips and stuff with my cosplay group so we can be guests
can that happen?

You can surely do a panel discussing about making cosplay, but that doesn't give you guest status.

You're going have to plead your case to the con committee . Has your group won any awards? You have give some good reasons on why you should be a guest. There thousands of cosplay groups out there. You need to make your group stand out.

If you just want to do that, then apply for a panel.

Usually, you'll have to gain a national status as amazing cosplayers to be a guest. I'm not saying you're not amazing, just so you know, I'm just saying that you really have to get the word out there. You're probably more than qualified to host a panel though, so I would start there! After that, who knows? Cons may even ask you to be guests eventually!

I highly, highly doubt that you will get guest status for a panel on cosplay.

guest status has always been reserved for celebrities and people who are big names in the anime, live action, gaming, and manga, as well as music industries. That has always been my understanding and unless there are famous people who are a part of your group its highly unlikely. Even being the top poster here does not give celebrity status so it is completely unlikely.

However anyone is welcome to do a panel as that is a contribution that people my appreciate.

Technically you would be a guest as in a guest attending Acen, but not a headlining guest that Acen invites to the convention. There has been a few cosplay panels, so I would suggest to apply for a panel. =3

You're more than welcome to apply for a panel when submissions open. However, guest status generally applies to professionals in the industry rather than amateur groups.
