Need I mention that I wasn't being serious? -_-

Plus Duncan has played The Kingpin who is also not black. Though he and Jet have similar voices so it works, or something.

Like Kirby says, Hollywood CAN make a good adaptation, but odds are they won't. Just see virtually every video game movie ever produced.

There is a glimmer of hope though, because I read that the creator will be looking over the script. That could mean that he is actually working with them, or B: they are giving him money just to look at it and then they don't care what he says and just do what they want to do.

lol! i was going to mention it but figured i'd already posted more than enough of my opinions here.

not an anime, but i saw a scott pilgrim commercial this morning and noticed that the lead was actually mimicking the exact facial expressions used in the artwork from the graphic novels. literally, squinting while they smile and stretching out their eyes when they're saying something ditzy! so, it's not like an really close adaptation can't be made if the director is a fan.

That's actually why I have such high hopes for the Ghost in the Shell live action. Spielberg's a fan.

Just watched the live action movie of Blood the Last Vampire, and I gotta say...what a piece of trash.

Saya is in the movie but she's hardly even close to being important other than killing the "demons" as the stage is stolen by some American chick who's behavior, personality, and beliefs change every 10 minutes to situate her as the protagonist. The CGI for the Chiropterans... I mean DEMONS ( screw you Hollywood ) is trash as well, not at all life like and stands out so badly that you can't help but laugh in disgust at the shoddy job they did. The plot is weak and the acting is a joke.

LOL I remember watching that in the one theater in the whole area that was showing it. My friends and I were mocking it on the ride back.

Ghost in the Shell live action would just be another boring, monotonous sci-fi action flick.

I wouldn't be disappointed if this never happened.

here's an update on the cowboy bebop movie:
http://www.animenews...on-cowboy-bebop

basically, it's in limbo, like most anime movies, and they can't even decide on the scale of the film and how to write the script yet. there was an early version done, but it's so expensive that it'll never get made, and reeves hasn't heard anything about the project beyond that.

"...it would cost, like, half a billion dollars to make that script."

This makes me happy. And it would so be worth it because the original writer wrote the script so it has to be good! Unfortunately, we would probably get the watered down version. ;__;
