My basement flooded last year or the year before that. Many brave childrens toys and video games lost their lives in the flood. But now it can't happen anymore 8D

My basement flooded a bit...electronics and cosplay materials got soaked (sob)

Wow @_@ I live in glendale heights and it's not far from lombard and we didn't even get hit that badly. At least, where I live. Dunno about the rest of GH.

I live in the basement of my house :D it's nice and cool down here and nothing got flooded! Thank god.

Wow that is crazy! I'm sorry for your loss. My town had a tornado siren go off with really bad weather. Not sure if there was a tornado though. But luckily no flooding. We've had bad flood before with 4 ft of water in the garage >,<

I went to Suigetsu's place today to hang out with him and ended up having to fish him out of his house that had it's own knee deep moat around it. I saw the basement, flooded up over the couch cushions. It was bad...

So me and Suigetsu ended up going out, getting him some stuff that he and his family needs until the basement is no longer flooded. As bad as the flooding was in the area...I feel guilty about having fun walking around in the water ^^;

Geez man. I had no idea the flooding was that bad last night. I'm sorry to hear about that :/

Nothing sucks more than a flood. Been through one myself. You really have my sympathies.

Wow, you got flooded out there. Probably is a good thing my mom said no on taking my sister to Oakbrook today then... o.o;; I hope everything turns out okay for you! ; A;

Can't say we got that level of flooding out here in the city, at least where I'm at, though our basement wall did decide it was a horizontal fountain. Nothing bad in the end...my dad apparently hammered a bucket over the squirts & lined the floor with the clean (formerly) clean laundry & called it a job done (...mum wasn't exactly thrilled to put it lightly lol ^^;). Didn't see for myself, though, til he took the bucket off about 9pm... was out driving home from downtown with my sister, friend and her dad through the first storm tha'dt hit around 6pm. Like driving through a never-ending, Nascar-inspired highspeed carwash.... through to 2ft rainwater on Stevenson & Cicero offramp. Felt bad for this one motorcycle dude... the water was over most of his bike so he was huddling under the overpass.

In other news, more rain is projected these next 2 days. Crikey, considering Chicago got 9 inches overnight + 4 from the evening storms... and the NW suburbs got 12+ plus the evening storms' totals. You'd almost think we were Seattle. @.@;

Wow. I live in Lombard, very close to Villa park, but I am in Vegas right now. It looks pretty suckass out there, but my mom said the basement only flooded slightly in our area. If anyone has anymore pictures, I would love to see. :x [Since I can't look myself.]

I hope you all get things sorted out :<

It sounds like we are the back-up for Lombard. When the town takes too much water, it is all directed to the sectors right next to our houses. Unfortunately, the city doesn't have any back up for us.

It's the whole "Sacrifice a few for the many" type logic isn't it...

Though the fact that their back up takes out like two entire blocks and an entire side street is ridiculous!

My yard turns into a shallow lake at times but fortunately I've never had more than about 1/2" of water in my basement ever. Most everything is up on shelves or pallets (cheap raised flooring) anyway. Some power problems. Some phone (landline) problems. But so far...
