Oi! DirecTV is awesome. And I'd rather not bog down my connection downloading/streaming a bunch of HD shows (and yes, HD is a must for me) when I could be using that bandwidth for *ahem* other things.

I'm actually in a different boat.

I miss Comcast so F'n bad! I live in a managed building that ONLY has directv in it and I can't get a decent internet connection for the life of me. I'm stuck with Clear and it's all kinds of fail. My building is talking about letting Comcast run a line to my apartment for some outrageous fee.

I can't stand programmed TV anymore and it's just so expensive. I haven't had TV service in a long time.

I have also had a problem connecting to On Demand, and ended up having to call Comcast to come over and see what the problem was. It turned out that there was an improper connection of some kind. Best of luck with that, Ska, and I like your new avatar!

We have always had some issue with comcast. They usually jack up the fees randomly and when we look at the bill it is higher than it was the month before. They do a lot of hidden fees sometimes and they don't tell you when the prices get more expensive. You would think that after being with them for so long you would get a discount...or at least be able to pay what you did when you started out!! >.< Other than that comcast has been an okay provider. The tv rarely goes out or gets fuzzy and it is nice to have sci-fi, gameshow network, and other higher up channels.

And thanks Matt =^.^= ITS SO FLUFFY!!!! (I watched Despicable Me yesterday ^.^)

I'm not a fan of DirectTV, but we have no choice. We're kinda grandfathered into one hell of a deal.

heh, unfortunetly for where I live, Comcast is all that's available. We get our TV servbice form the good ol' Digital rabbit ears. We're semi-far away from the city, so it has to be pretty much completly clear to receive most channels >.<

apparently, though, if you have comcast internet service, you also have basic cable service, I have to try this when I get home.....

Yeah, I'm not happy with DirecTV myself. I was in collections with them. They made a huge screwup on my bill and tried to bill me over $500. I told them that they made a mistake on the bill and after 4 months of arguing, they would not correct it. I walked out on the contract and put me in collections for 2 years.

After many filed complaints with the BBB, it got worked out. It was a ridiculous adventure.

where you located? if you can look into wow cable, yea tehre is a company called wow, wide open west, i had it in des plaines, it was awsome, the only time it ever went out was when the power went out over a storm or some drunk hitting a transformer pole, great customer service, and very good net connection, we had the basic cable plan, no movie channels, and the medium net connection bundle, it was like around 50-60 bucks a month, just look into them and see if they are in your area, if not, find out when they will be, they are getting big from their great service, 100% better then crapcast
i'm back, for now anyway.

I have a decent connection with Comcast. I also have 160 channels, and for all of that I pay just over 60 per month. Here's what my last speed test was. My upload speed was a little lower than normal on it though. http://www.scottyspo.../connection.jpg

Damn, just look at their site, kick arse prices, but they don't get in my area, so I emailed them and asked if they would come out to my area. They're based in Denver....and Batavia (where I live) is inbetween Des Plains and Denver, so they should have service in my area! they would make a killing; I know at least 5 people who would break their contracts with Comcrap and Mediacommunists to sign up.

Veeeeeeery rarely. I have only lost it once in the year that I've been in my new house, and in that case it was absolutely raining sheets. Otherwise I've been pleasantly surprised with the stability of the satellite - especially since at my grandma's house she would lose signal if the clouds were in the wrong spot.
