I will stop cosplaying when I can no longer make my own/commission others to make them for me. As for attending cons that'll happen when I can no longer maneuver myself around the con. I started attending cons/cosplaying while in my early 20's and feel safe in saying that I will continue to do so until it is physically and/or mentally impossible to do so. As others have said, it's my 'me time' being with others who enjoy the same things. I'm sure that I'll be able to find a way to finance at least one con a year even if I have a husband and child(ren), I'll try getting them into it and if that fails ask only they let me continue on with what I enjoy.
ACen 2012: Thursday - ? Friday - ? Saturday - Iruka-sensei Sunday - ?

Hopefully cosplay will be a go this ACen!

I will probably stop going to cons when my friends lose interest, because I'll have no one to go with. As far as stopping cosplay, I have no idea. I thought that last year would be my final year, but here I am with 2 costumes for this year. So, who knows.

This is actually my last con, at least for awhile...a long while that is. I'm graduating college...well next week now and I got a job with Carnival Cruise Line :D I'm super excited about it, but that also means I'm going to be living on a boat for about 11 months out of a year. If everything goes as planned the week after Acen I'll be leaving to move down to Florida. It kinda sucks because I love my con-friends, cosplaying, and just going to cons all together. But this is Actually something I've been wanting to do for a while so yea...growing up sucks lol :P

BTW - congrats on such an amazing opportunity!
I won't be attending Acen 2012 due to school. Acen 2013 Cosplays remain a secret.

This will be my 6th ACen. I have two kids now, one of them being an ACen baby ;). We'll probably always go but may end up only going one day when the kiddos get older.

I will attend ACen as long as there is an ACen to attend!

As for cosplay... I may eventually hang up my kitty ears and become a full-time commissioner, but I cannot honestly say when.

Ok I cant say for sure when I will stop I did not go to my first con till age 27 and that was ikasucon when it came to fort wayne, cosplaying is something I though everyone did so I just started doing it but I only do closet cosplays, of modest dressed and catholic characters that dont do stuff that would not be going against the real catholic church its a streach for me to play wolfwood since he kills people and two priests told me I should not dress as a priest since I would not be being true to who I am, and would be misrepresenting myself as a clergy person, as well as I did not make the sacrifices in life necessary to be entitled to wear a shirt of a priest or pastor.

Cons well eventualy I will just get a nice kimono and wear that over my clothes to save on cost and still fit in at a con, but on the other hand I may go into the clergy and pretending to be a giant robot pilot or a samuri would be a lie and not speak well of me to do so, as well as living for helping others and such things would be forbidden onto me let alone have the time to go when I would be taking care of a parish, or a community who need me more then I need myself, and going to a con would be selfish when there are soo many people in need, though It does not rule out talking about christianity in Japan on a panel or having an anime club where I will be or writting on ratings of manga for content or themes.

The fact is though I am running out of ideas as it is for characters that meet this criteria and still do closet cosplays so the cosplay may be reused many times, and I will not dress up as a youki or demon no way.

I haven't been going to any conventions for that long.

I don't see myself stopping, I only see an evolution in the way I spend my time at them.

I'll probably stop cosplaying once I hit 95, 96. Y'know. Might get creepy at that point.

Never. I have characters I plan on cosplaying as who are older and require appropriate physical features. Bit of a perfectionist

Plus, Master Roshi is a MUST when I'm like 70

I thought it was funny how many people said once they have kids they'll probably stop cosplaying. I'm dressing mine up and taking them with me! xD Of course, I can only do that for so many years before they get a mind of their own, and then they'll get to decide if they want to keep cosplaying or not. If they don't, hiring a babysitter/keeping them at grandparents house for a weekend or two every year is no big deal :) I'll probably go to less cons as I get older, but I feel like I'll always hit at least one a year and hopefully will still be comfortable enough with my body to cosplay, but those cosplays won't be anything like the sexy-no-jutsu naruto I'm planning for this year xD Ah, the joys of being 19~

Somehow I know I posted in here earlier, but to be honest the end may come earlier than expected.

It's an interesting point in my life where I'm going to attempt to make it out on my own away from my hometown later this year and try to move on in my life. I've been to five conventions over the past four years and been the same character every time (Save for this year when I broke out a costume I didn't really like after I wore it.)

Friday I had to excuse myself from my friends and had a long stare in the mirror. I don't really know what characters I want to dress as in the future, and my effort in doing so is usually lack luster. I've grown emotional attachments to my time in costume to the point that sometimes maybe I should just walk away from it for a while. To be honest due to emotional and psychological reasons stemming from predicaments stated earlier, this was one of my least enjoyable times going to a convention because I spent so much time worrying and not having as much fun as I could be. And now that I harbor ambition to do other outfits, it's kind of going out of my comfort zone in this hobby.

As for when? It could be sooner than originally thought. I'm not as creative or as involved in the scene as many others are and my skills are amateur at best. Unless I can find better reasons for myself, I may hang my threads up soon. For how long though, remains to be seen.

Wow I'm glad I'm only 17 I still have years and years to come with Cons and Cosplay although ACEN 2012 will be my first year Cosplaying and I still won't be 18 yet I am actually scared that I may get the urge to fall out of anime and cons all together. I grew up with Anime and I just don't see myself falling out of it, but I'm sort of scared. My sis is lucky she started Cosplaying at 12yrs old and now is 14. I got my younger cousin who is 12 to cosplay next year. And I'm glad I got him into it at a young age so he can enjoy it for a long time. But I don't think I will stop going to cons and anime for a LONG time.

I have dressed up once this year and it was fun but being the only one in your group to do so brings me down. For 2012 I may or not go depending if I can get my vacation during that time so every year I try to go no matter what. I guess I will call it quits when someone pays me off or they tell stop doing that or I loose interest in going to Acen which will be in the future some where.

Honestly I'll probably be doing this for as long as I'm able to get days off of work for this. Stopping will also come when I no longer have fun and it's more of a chore to go. I started going to cons in my late teens and it was all about the anime and how mine was better than everyone else's. Now that I'm nearing my late 20s, the reason I go has shifted from being about talking about "my" anime, to wanting to talk with voice actors and how the industry itself works. Sure I still love my anime and jpop, but I also like going to conventions to meet people and just have fun with those sharing a common interest.

My final cosplay will be with my grand kids in their teenage years. We will all do Left 4 Dead and I will be Bill, then that is it for me. Hopefully I can cosplay and be a furry in the afterlife. :3

sorry...i could not resist

Anyway, I'd have to say when I can no longer afford it...or move somewhere else where getting to a con would be impractical. It's ok though, halloween is national cosplay day for me ^_^ I love wearing costumes and I doubt that will change.

I'm pretty sure as long as I have money and the ability to breathe, I'll be going to conventions xD
