Oh this excites me so. The new season of Futurama starts at 10/9c on Comedy Central. You know how long I sat wondering when they will pick this show up again and it has finally happened!!!!! Hooray~ I'll probably forget that it's on tonight, but my DVR is set to record all first run episodes of Futurama so I'll be watching it soon enough. >w<

I really want this to do well. I would hate for it to be rushed. I would rather they don't make any new ones than ruin it; however, I'm still hopeful that it'll be great.

They've got most of the same writing staff coming back, so I have no reason to think it'll be a letdown.

New Futurama, or old King of the Hill... nah, not even close. King of the Hill isn't going to take away viewers from Futurama. They're in the 9:00pm timeslot usually occupied by Comedy Central's big shows, namely South Park (on Wednesdays). It's being led in with reruns, and it's being led out with The Daily Show and Colbert Report. I can't see a conflict when KotH has has normal Cartoon Network as its lead-in, and Family Guy reruns as its lead-out.

On an only partially unrelated note, I went to Brickworld this year and there was an entire Futurama diorama! New New York; complete with the Madison Cube Garden, the Jurassic Park Ride, the Planet Express ship and sssoooo much more :3c

Yeah, but I'm not in the great state of Michigan right now, at home. I'm in Columbus...Its a pretty backwater town. They don't have such fancy devices.

lol, i agree with flelf sadly. i'm gonna check out the new episodes, but in a clutch, i'd rather watch episodes of koth than futurama, even brand-new episodes. i am glad it's back for all the people that love that show, though.

out of all the adult swim comedy rerun series, the only one i felt really did end totally prematurely and needed a few more seasons was mission hill - that was an amazing show that never got a chance to find an audience. futurama, family guy, etc. all had a run that spanned at least three or four seasons, which seems like enough even when i liked the shows and could stand to see more. better to end while they're still amusing instead of run them into the ground.

but, once again, i'll definitely give it a shot tonight or dvr it and see if it hooks me again.

thats because there sees to be no direct plot line being followed. its almost family guy esque

meandering...it was very meandering, yeah.
futurama always had plenty of so-so episodes, though.
i was hoping to be wowed, but i'll give it a month to catch its stride before totally giving up.

I agree. But I knew that the "okay lets explain why and and how everyone comes back" was going to be pretty bad.
I think the writers just need to find their footing again and everything will be great.

I loved Zap's dream things in the 2nd episode.

That's what bugs me. You spend essentially 5 season (if you count the movies as a season) building up their relationship and finally getting them together, and you already establish that he doesn't really have that sense of healthy jealousy. We already know he gets that way based on his actions from Beast with a Billion Backs (unless you want to consider the later events of the movie life-changing), why would he not be more protective of the person he has been "waiting a thousand years" for?

Might I also add that I absolutely hate that Zap is "winning" now. First Amy, now Leela? He's a slimeball, he's not supposed to "win". :/

Hmmm I really liked the first episode! I didn't see episode 2 because my DVR didn't record it. I did see the chamber of understanding! That was funny as hell! I laughed at so many things, I guess I'm easily entertained.
