Just joined the forums and ACen 2010 the 13th annual was my first time going. I was very worried that it would be a boring time and waste of a lot of money, but I ended up loving it and didnt want to leave was I had got around. So I plan on going next year, and was wondering if anyone had a price range for the ES for rooms for that weekend ( what do they usually run for ACen?)and what is a guess on when we can book do to the block.

So, I thought I could only see patches of reality, never the whole picture. I felt like I was watching a dream I could never wake up from. Before I knew it, the dream was over.

Welcome to the forums! As for rates, those will be released closer to the con. If you're looking for ES rates, you can contact the hotel and see if they have a general idea. Keep in mind that they will most likely change closer to the con.

Just send a pm if you have any questions or wanna chat

Honestly I'd probably ask around the forum if you're looking for general prices. If I had to guess, the hotel would probably just give you general rates instead of con rates. Prices generally don't change too much between years, though they do tend to go up a bit.

Boring? No. Waste of money? Depends on what you purchase. Congrats on taking the first step to the place where all your money goes ^.^

LoL. Thank you for the warm welcome. Yea was just curious what others had paid for the weekend, seems like most people on the hotel forums said to stay at ES. Oh and i spent money on a little bit of everything! Food, games, clothes, art, posters, busts, exc. Really wasnt to bad price wise as long as you searched every booth.....which i did lol. Where did everyone eat? I ate at the American Grill place was a lil pricey. Since it was my first time the only thing i was confused about was what the main/panel/video programming was. i couldnt understand what actually goes on there.

As for eating, we ordered out for Giordano's on Thursday night, and after that I pretty much subsisted on lunch meats and other foods that I brought up and kept in a cooler. (Note: Embassy Suites apparently has fridges that you can actually use instead of being stocked with overpriced food.) Just as a suggestion I would recommend bringing food with because no matter where you eat (save McDonald's) it'll be a bit up there in price.

Welcome to the forums!

It's almost a custom to have pizza one of the nights of the Con if your rooming with people...

I took $210 to Acen when I walked in... I walked out with about $12 left by the end of the Con. Between Pizza two nights of the Con, and swag my wallet got a bit thin.

I agree with Wrex ( he helped me carry my cooler ^^ ), Bring food you can munch on and eat at the con so your not reliant on outside sources of food that cost a lot of money. Bread with some lunch meats and cheese goes a long way to stop you from spending money on food in the Hyatt or at some other place during the Con. I also suggest going to the dollar store and buying a big box or bag of animal crackers or vanilla wafer cookies! Those are great to munch on, just make sure no one else steals them when your not looking >.>

And I would also suggest bringing your own drink supply unless your ok living off tap water for the entire weekend or want to pay outrageous prices at the con for a drink. Bottled is best so you can carry it with you.

i lived off of cheetoos and some hypnotic along with everclear the whole weekend, proud of myself yes. amazed very. but parking was insanely over priced and i had to punch each roomate for money to cover that bs...

i stayed at the alot for all a thursday arrival and sunday exit it was 330 something with taxes. thats including the mandatory hold fee incase we screwed up the room. only thing over priced there is parking (they wanted 100 from me HA and the food) i parked in convention parking and paid 40 to leave my car in one spot (better than 100 for the same privledges) then like i said milked some money out of the roomates for that part.

aloft has a mini fridge in the room but the bathroom doors have no locks so a lot of bathroom pranks get pulled on people in my room.

we had one guy that liked to sing in the shower and take long ones..... i didnt like that so when he would start getting really in to his songs i would just run in fling the sliding door back and then bolt off and sometimes it would take him like 15 minutes to realized the door was open. one time the other guy in the room walked in the bahroom area after i did that and was like AHHHHHHHHHH i couldnt stop laughing because i knew something grand happened.

aloft was fun for my group but maybe not good for yours. haha. sounds like bathroom door locks are needed for most.
