Room blocks haven't been released yet. Check out the Hotels forum. More information will be periodically released

Honestly I'd probably ask around the forum if you're looking for general prices. If I had to guess, the hotel would probably just give you general rates instead of con rates. Prices generally don't change too much between years, though they do tend to go up a bit.

Boring? No. Waste of money? Depends on what you purchase. Congrats on taking the first step to the place where all your money goes ^.^

It's almost a custom to have pizza one of the nights of the Con if your rooming with people...
I took $210 to Acen when I walked in... I walked out with about $12 left by the end of the Con. Between Pizza two nights of the Con, and swag my wallet got a bit thin.
I agree with Wrex ( he helped me carry my cooler ^^ ), Bring food you can munch on and eat at the con so your not reliant on outside sources of food that cost a lot of money. Bread with some lunch meats and cheese goes a long way to stop you from spending money on food in the Hyatt or at some other place during the Con. I also suggest going to the dollar store and buying a big box or bag of animal crackers or vanilla wafer cookies! Those are great to munch on, just make sure no one else steals them when your not looking >.>
And I would also suggest bringing your own drink supply unless your ok living off tap water for the entire weekend or want to pay outrageous prices at the con for a drink. Bottled is best so you can carry it with you.

Well excuse me for having weak feminine arms! xD
Besides, I carried back to the car at the end of Acen :x Though I think we did that together.

i stayed at the alot for all a thursday arrival and sunday exit it was 330 something with taxes. thats including the mandatory hold fee incase we screwed up the room. only thing over priced there is parking (they wanted 100 from me HA and the food) i parked in convention parking and paid 40 to leave my car in one spot (better than 100 for the same privledges) then like i said milked some money out of the roomates for that part.
aloft has a mini fridge in the room but the bathroom doors have no locks so a lot of bathroom pranks get pulled on people in my room.

we had one guy that liked to sing in the shower and take long ones..... i didnt like that so when he would start getting really in to his songs i would just run in fling the sliding door back and then bolt off and sometimes it would take him like 15 minutes to realized the door was open. one time the other guy in the room walked in the bahroom area after i did that and was like AHHHHHHHHHH i couldnt stop laughing because i knew something grand happened.
aloft was fun for my group but maybe not good for yours. haha. sounds like bathroom door locks are needed for most.
