UPDATED!!!

puppy is now 3wks old!! yippie! we have decided on going a different direction for names so i re did the poll for you all. there are still 4 choices but i wont disclose what the last option is because it is in limbo if we even will fully consider it.

so new pic of her below, my mother btw hated the name nyx because she thought it was trashy (i think it was because she kept saying it wrong) so w/e i also decided that i wanted to go with a hewbrew name although aubry isnt i just like that name along with avrey though avrey would be more for a male or a different dog she doesnt look like an avrey to me...

You, my friend, have obviously never been to an animal shelter. You oughta see the names that get cooked up for the critters in those places. (My younger cat was one of them. Her shelter name was Abercrombie. Her present name? Kahlua.) I even named a litter of four kittens after the Beatles - with full names attached.

I actually think these names are pretty simple, considering the complex ones I've seen.

i was using greco roman gods for names... :\ i tried the name lillith with my mom and she didnt even know how to spell it which has the hewbrew meaning for witch or screec owl, so i said oh it could be an ode to a few women in our family... my mom still not getting it says how do you spell that???

i bought a baby naming book which will be retured in like 2 weeks cause it was 15 bucks.

With me, I usually name a pet based on either its appearance/something I like/whatever sounds fitting. Food/drink names can be cute. My friends dogs names are Snickers, Jager, and Seagrams.

For that dog, I like "Bailey". I think thats a cute name for a dog. Or Hazelnut, Caramel, Mocha, Aurora (I can go on). It's totally up to you! Go with what you like and let it stick.

You should see some of the ones we give to the animals that come through the vet clinic I work for. The best so far: Piawaket!!! I haven't got a clue what book the name came from (doc was reading it at the time), but he's "the devil's cat." Trust me, this cat looks the part with his crooked tail and squinty eyes (he lives with me now) and I wuvs him, even if he is a little evil... lol we've also had napolian, ditto, and we just named one Sandy, cuz when she came to us she was covered in grease (we had NO idea she was white) and grease is derived of sand.
If you call them all fido and fifi, it gets boring after a while, and you know the people who adopt it are going to call it whatever they want to anyway, so why not give it something truly creative for a little while?
or... you get the people who give the MOST interesting names I've EVER heard. One cat's name is Spaghetti Dirt. (yes, I'm dead serious). Then you've got dawg, or diogi (pronounced dee, oh, gee) and the millions of "baby kitty"s. I had one come in the other day with the name "bukkiss" (say it quickly now)

i had garnet on a list earlier but then again i also had 2 hamsters at one point...

one was garnet the other ruby based on eye colour... they hated each other after a while and garnet was always nice and ruby mean so she got a one story cage while garnet kept the 2 story... that is when garnet showed how evil she could really be. she started using the second floor to pee off of and aim at ruby, it was so funny. she had good aim after a week or two but we put a towle up between them and put an end to it after we caught her doing it cause at first we thought it was just she liked to pee on the top floor so we put a hamster litter box upp there.

garnet isnt on the list any more. plus its too final fantasy.

and kii assassin is longer than the dog is big.
