If you're like me and you love storms. I had to head straight home because of it. The emergency lights are on and tree branches are flying all over the place. I got beat in the face by a barrage of something because my window was open. The weather isn't even stable. The rains and winds are shifting rapidly.

How's the weather by you guys?

I am loving this storm. It's been awhile since I've been in a big storm like this one, The biggest being a hurricane storm when I was a kid in Florida. That was an awesome storm, for some reason I was at an Arcade with one of my mom's friends and we were playing games for tickets, and the power went out right when we hit a jackpot on one of the ticket games ( it was like over 1,000 tickets ) and because of it when the power went back on it paid 5 times the jackpot amount, yay for electrical stuff! Then we went outside and the car's were flooded up to the door so of course, the car didn't start due to being flooded and we had to call in a tow truck to tow the car and give us a ride back to my home. Best Storm EVER!

This one sucks though in the fact that it's caused all my plans with friends on friday night to be canceled. :(

pretty cool, i was on my way home from picking up my check and i think i saw the gas city on the corner of Rt. 45 and Laraway lights flicker. the wind was pretty strong it almost felt like it was going to flip me and my jeep over, but i liked how the trees looked in the darkness

I like storms, as long as I don't need to go out in them. :P

Hopefully, all this rain will cool things off a little.

My entire family and I were just out on the porch.
We're a family of storm-lovers.
Even if it's the only commonality we all share.

I love it but it's kinda scary. It blew our car out of our lane...
I sat on the porch and predicted with my family which trees would get knocked down or broken.
So far we've been about 75% right.

So that was pretty much the shortest severe thunderstorm I have ever experienced.
/disappoint

It basically hung around for fifteen minutes, flooded my basement, and left.

Sun's out now, but at 3pm it was as black as night outside.
We got winds over 70 mph. It was fun.

I spent my time wrapped up in a blanket, watching the Weather Channel and practically bathed in the light of my laptop (a power surge cut off my internet, but the light at least helped when it was super dark). Luckily I was a lot calmer during this storm than I usually am - I'm usually a panicked child during storms.

My brother was out at Six Flags during the storms; he spent his time selling ponchos and telling people not to run. XD

I was just getting out of work when the storm came rolling towards the office. The wind was really beating on us, so those of us leaving at 4 had to run to our cars - the wind was practically slamming the prefacing drizzle on us, and boy did that STING. Once I got to my car, I took a couple minutes to observe the fact that the wind was actually rocking my car somewhat, and that the rain hadn't fully hit yet.

And it didn't until just before I was pulling out of my spot at about 4:08.

Saw some pretty damn awesome lightning on my way home, though.

I'm watching the Weather In Motion on Weather Channel's site right now. Apparently there's a big splotch of red going over McHenry and Mundelein.

Yeah, I'm glad I got dinner on my way home from work. No way am I going out in this.

I have seen a lot more lighting with this second storm then the first one. A few that make the outside look like daylight, and some thunder that shakes the house.

and the baby sleeps through it all.

When i left for work around 320 it was so dark outside it looked like night time. The winds were crazy too, it was hard driving the suburban through it. It was pretty bad coming home from work too. The winds were so strong they were blowing open our automatic doors at work until we locked them. I did see some pretty awesome lightning on my way home though.
