I think that it would be incredible if we could get him to play for ACen. I know he loves coming to the US (he's actually here right now), and I don't think he's so big that we couldn't get him. I understand he was supposed to play ACen 04 and then had to drop out last minute? He loves his fans and is probably one of the greatest guitar players in the whole music industry. He's technically in the band S.K.I.N. with Gackt, Sugizo, and Yoshiki. Although they haven't done anything since their one performance at AnimeExpo 2007. (Not even an album... )

I was just about to post this when I already saw your topic. I honestly think Myv isn't too big at ALL to bring over here. I mean, he's been to America more than once, he did say he wanted to come back to Chicago, I don't think Acen would have to worry about the venue, since he says he prefers smaller places anyway, and he doesn't have any concerts scheduled during that time period next year. I saw him live last week (oh God, it was amazing...) and it didn't seem the crowd was too big, I wouldn't think there would be a problem having him in the ballroom like with other past guests. I really really REALLY think Acen should at least try to get him here. And also, Yoshiki was here (and is coming back) and that's one of his close friends. If we can get Yoshiki, I'm sure we can get Myv.

Honestly, I am completely surprised that he's not that big. I thought a lot of people knew who he was, but his shows didn't really sell out here, and all the venues were small, to my understanding. I know The House of Blues was small, and the room wasn't that full compared to other shows I've been to. I know the ballroom can hold a crowd for him! O:<

Oh my! So I found out in 2004 Acen was going to have Miyavi, but replaced him with Sid. Acen should defiantly get him again! If they got him once, can't they do it again?! And hopefully, no staffing problems this time. ^^

@Taco *points to little intro* Haha I already said that. And it wasnt so much that ACen itself replaced him as Miyavi wasnt avaliable. He was also supposed to play Otakon. He had some troubles with his N.A. tour though and had to cancel the whole thing.

I got too excited I missed that part. xD I read about it more for myself too, something about staffing issues? And do you mean the tour that was supposed to happen last year? I'm sure it was because he was recovering from an injury. I wonder though, how would it be like trying to book him, now that he has his own company?

Actually Miyavi was confirmed but cancelled a week or so before ACen and SID ended up being a last minute replacement.

Miyavi would be amazing. He's popular, but not directly associated with any anime preventing exclusion. We've even gotten several non-j lovers to become fans of him, thanks to his upbeat catchy songs. We say "GO FOR IT!"

My friends got to see his summer concert at the House of Blues in Chicago and they were talking about the performance for MONTHS. They said he was so energetic and open - an amazing concert from him overall. They had no complaints. I have slowly started to fall in love with his music (mostly because of my friends obsession) and I would adore seeing him in concert. It would be the first time that I would feel really up to seeing one of ACEN's concerts. There are a lot of his songs that I enjoy, and he just released an album recently, so some more positive press would probably be appreciated by the Miyavi camp.

Please try and get Miyavi for ACEN 2011 if possible!~

Honestly i really don't think it'll be that hard to get Miyavi because amazingly enough he has a pretty strong American fan base and he's done shows in America before he also just did a show in Chicago over the summer. So basically my point is that he'd be easier to get then a group like The Gazette because they've only done shows in japan and Europe.

Agreed. And like I mentioned before, he just released an album, and what better press not only for him, but for his new record label too, than performing a concert for 10K+ attendees at the largest Japanese anime/manga convention in the Midwest? Then again, I know squat about the publicity side of things, but it never hurts to ask. The worst thing he can say is 'No', right? <3

YES! I would love to see him live! I'm not incredibly familiar with all of his music, but I really like what I've heard. Better yet, a good friend of mine is a huge fan, and I know she'd freak if she saw his show.

Also agreed - and it's more of a fact that ACEN was able to procure an artist that isn't directly related to anime, but has a rather extensive fanbase to begin with. Other big bands that ACEN has boasted include High & Mighty Color, and The Pillows, and both bands had ties to anime. I like the idea that they might be able to get someone who has earned his reputation on his own - he's been in the business for years and his unique style of music has pushed him to fame. Plus, I've heard that he throws amazing concerts that would keep anyone entertained.
