:/
It was really bad last night. Was coming home from Wisconsin. Worst storms I ever drove in. Can't imagine having a tornado come through.

Glad to hear everyone's alright thus-far. Hopefully it'll stay that way, considering all the bad storms that keep coming through the midwest.

My husband was out for the night, so he didn't get home till they passed. Our daughter and I were holed up in the bathroom for the most part. I went to check on things outside a few times and those clouds were eerily low. It felt so unnerving to see the wind and rain die, but the clouds above flowing like a river.

Hope everyone at Colossal is ok. I got a text from someone there saying they were all in the hotel basement.

Dude, I was North from the tornadoes in Matteson. Man, that was a bad storm, similar to the one that happened a few years ago in that area, but it was like...in Frankfort or something. Scared out of my mind...x.x

I live about 40 miles from Streator. I lost internet during storm, but otherwise completely fine. Just got very bored.

Yeah we had some bad weather over by me too. Since it was just me and the little guy, I was really worried. But we just had really bad weather, no tornadoes by us. Thankgoodness. I am glad everyone is ok though.

Man why can't we have any cool storms like that here? All we get are wussy storms that start out strong but piddle out in like 10 minutes. :( no fun at all.

The sky was orange for a while near my house and the sirens were going off, but nothing came through. I sat on the couch eating an icecream sandwich and watching the weather channel.

Glad to hear OP is alright, since you actually had tornadoes run over your town.

I wanted to be a storm chaser for quite a long time when I was younger... until I was outside in the parking lot when I was a teen waiting for my mum to finish shopping at the local Kohls... and a tornado hit the building right in front of me.
Now I'm terrified. ^^;

Agreed. I've seen a few tornados, I've even witnessed this one when working on the road one day. What an amazing sight. I was actually on the other side of I-57 when I saw it. God, I wish I had a video camera then.

How can anyone chase tornadoes or watch them?

I see a whirling tower of death coming towards me, I run the other way or duck for cover.

You guys are insane.

I remember that! I was at Southlake mall when it happened, completely unaware it was even raining >.<
Babages is surprisingly well insulated from the outside world.

As far as the weather here, I have no clue I had to be awake for a long day at work so I was out cold last night.

All these storms penetrated into my dreams last night.... there was purple (yes purple) tornado in my dream and I had to hide in the bathtub.

I am glad to hear that everyone is ok though.

When skydiving it's at least mostly predictable; you have no clue where a tornado may go. It will literally wipe out one house and leave the next untouched. I've seen a couple in my time, not fun. I was in a Sears literally about a half mile from a tornado that wiped out a clothing store and killed two people. Definitely a jarring experience.

I always thought that skydiving and stormchasing was how nature weeded out the sick and infirm, now that we don't have wolves to do it anymore.

Except in Montana...we still have wolves here.
