The Japanese twist was the higher concentration on the Mecha aspects, and a more Japanese viewpoint story. Interesting.

I started watching the anime Say "I love you" based off of the manga and it's pretty darn adorable. I'm also trying to finish Hiiro no Kakera but it just feels a little slow for me and not as interesting.
I did start watching beck and need to finish that at some point too. Been reading the Skip beat manga and i'm all caught up so far. I watched the anime but i must say i enjoy the manga more since -alot- was left out of the show. Normally i'm not that picky but the manga helped clarify alot more :/ Anyways, if anyone has any suggestions of what to watch/read feel free to let me know

Did, on bluray. Enjoyed it for what it was. Waiting now for the third.
Depending on Rightstuf's BF sale, I may have more to watch soon but I sorely out of space for DVDs/Blurays. I need a dedicated library for it all anymore.

Ukraine has breasts.
She has them in spades.
If South Korea and Ukraine were to hook up...
Then South Korea would never have a shortage of breasts ever again.

it starts out with an interesting concept, protagonist, and lots of potential...then begins to show cracks by episode 6 or 7 and eventually
fizzles out into a really bland series. i trudged through the annoying harem fillers and totally shallow episodes about haunted graveyards
and stuff to make it to the halfway point in episode 13, which seemed like a good enough finale to the show overall, but, apparently, it keeps
going for 13 more episodes beyond that (and maybe another season since the novels are on-going??), despite it already wearing out its welcome with me.
it was one of many shonen that started out solid, with an interesting gimmick and a story that promised to be interesting,
but after it hooks you in with a strong opening, the show just devolves into a steady stream of phoned-in harem episodes and
some really uninspired subplots; the main plot becomes almost nonexistent. i was giving it high recommendations at episode 3, but at
episode 13 (where i am currently in the anime), i honestly wouldn't recommend it anymore - unless, of course, you're just really big into mmorpgs.
the two leads, kirito and asuna, are genuinely endearing (and already destined to be over-cosplayed), but once the first few episodes are done,
there is just literally no story, and nothing at all even remotely interesting about the steady stream of fetch quests the heroes go on with an infinite
number of uugu kawaii desu oiishi-lette girls who lack any discernible personality and want desperately to get into kirito's pants.

whenever they're doing a semi-serious story.
as for me, the only new anime i'm for sure, locked-in, not changing my mind, gonna watch is the second berserk film when it's out.
i dig tears to tiara just enough to keep with it, but not enough to marathon, so i'm gonna finish that up pretty soon, too.
i recently caught up in the beserk manga, as well, and i'm trying really hard to catch up in hunter x hunter, which is good and amusingly
dark and nihilistic for a shonen. also, i just ordered the latest volume of real (volume 11) because that series is COMPLETELY amazing and
the official translation is really well-written.
plus, the current arc of ah!my goddess, which i'm reading, with keiichi in hell, the judgment gate, the demonic throne being usurped,
bell and skuld's mom being introduced, that huge plot twist about heaven putting a spell on k1's mind and body since the beginning of the
series and belldandy knowing about it and lying to him this whole time!...and then when they got sent through time and space
to live the life of an entirely different human/goddess couple?!! ..>.<!!! the current arc of a!mg is really good right now, i wish it came
out more often. besides those, the only other anime i'm watching right now is homestuck.

Finished off (all on DVD):
Rosario + Vampire Season 1 (I have no idea who "Rosario" is supposed to be...)
Rosario and a Vampire (Rosario + Vampire) Season 2 ("Capu2") - They kinda left things hanging...
Fullmetal Alchemist: The Conqueror of Shamballa (re-watched - been a while...)
Strike Witches 2
Tattoon Master - a short 2 episode oldie that has a real real lame dub. Did I mention it has a lame dub?
Vampire Knight Season 2 Guilty
Fairy Tale set 1
Side note: Some of these are DVD/BluRay combos, and I've noted that there is almost always NO difference in things like bonus feature content. Some theatrical release movies CAN have differences in the bonuses/extras between DVD vs BluRay. "Brave" for example had a whole mess of extra bonus features on the BluRay version. In case anyone cares...

Forgot to add:
Heaven's Lost Property Season 1
Heaven's Lost Property Season 2 Forte
The series is big on boobs and juvenile sexual humor. Of interest is that every episode had a unique ending sequence and closing theme song/music.

Watched Freezing, enjoyed it for what it was..but felt a little rushed at the end and probably a little more satisfied if it was more along the lines of a 26 episode series.
Need more anime blurays.

I've started blindly watching Say "I Love You" because I can watch it on the Crunchyroll app on my phone. The art is really pretty, but I haven't watched enough to make a conclusion about the story.
Next on my list is Haibane Renmei, and finishing Natsume Yuujinchou.
