[Itachi-kun]

Ok so what I am thinking of doing is getting a cosplay meet-up started depending on how many are interested. I am thinking it would be kind of fun getting cosplayers to hang out at perhaps cherryvale mall or volcano falls or maybe even both. I would get more in the details later on i just want to see if anyone would be interested besides the 3 to 5 cosplayers i know that want to do this lol.

I'll consider going to this and bringing my camera to take photos. I'll have to see if cameras are allowed in the mall though...

Well cosplay would be optional I just thought it would be kinda fun ^^ and it makes me very happy to see an interest in this because i can hopefully get some dates thrown around and figure out what would be good for everyone

Here is the mall's code of conduct. Seeing as there was no mention of cameras in the PDF, I sent off an email to be sure.

I'm not sure how comfortable I would be in full cosplay in a normal public place, but if I do show up, I might wear cat-ears or something.

I'd say anyone going to this would probably want to keep the cosplay low-key (lose to street clothes though, maybe a little more) because if anyone gets too obnoxious (no offense) or if any of us look too "suspicious," the entire group could be forced to leave. :< And no one wants that.

I think jonkalucard666's goal here is to push his/our comfort zone a little by taking cosplay out into a public space to show others what it is all about. That being said, you can do as much or as little as you like. I think the main goal is to have good clean -legal- fun with a hobby that we all enjoy.

Personally, I don't know if I would either. I do have lupin and prince of tennis clothes from ACEN 2010 that would work and not be too extreme.

I see an "us" in there. Does that mean you want to attend as well?

The original poster said this in the old Rockford thread: "I have just kinda been going around to cherryvale mall and borders to see what kind of response I get in public places in cosplay and it's all been pretty good so far"

So I think, within reason, full cosplay would be okay. Although props, suggestive/lewd clothing, or other things that won't go over well in public would be a bad idea for sure.

Okay, I got a response from the mall about cameras:

Hi Scott, yes and no. If you are here with a group of friends and snap a
picture of the group, we don't mind that at all, however cameras in the
mall shooting various stores or as part of a scavenger hunt are NOT allowed
(nor are any type of scavenger hunts). I hope this helps to clarify our
rules and regulations. Thanks so much for checking on this first!

So I'm pretty sure thats a yes then? No scavenger hunts and we shouldnt be right next to a store sign and we are good to go. *lurks thread* Dun dun dunnnn. I live about 40 min from Rockford. <3

I think it is a yes. I'll just print out the email as proof and bring a camera bag to stow away the camera when necessary.

Actually I have gone to the mall in full cosplay before and it is always fun bringing Itachi Uchiha out for it and there is never any problems at least that I have had with cosplaying in public.


Anyways it is all in good fun and I am really excited about getting this meet up going and as for days I can do almost anything although my days off work are always wednesday and thursday so I was kind of hoping to do it one of them so i wouldnt have to leave a meet up i started early lol but i work nights so i might be able to work around it. Also I would be up for meeting at the mall to hang out meet and all that then moving over to volcano falls but that would depend on if it works for others

Weekends would be best for me starting the 14th because I start a new job and I will be working 10-6 most likely and I live an hour and 30 minutes away from the Cherryvale Mall.

If I were to bring a cosplay, it would be Tamama because it's overalls and a shirt. lol

Understandable and a weekend can probably work what would everyone think of a a saturday in july for this maybe the 17th possibly. And as for me I think I will be bringing out a new cosplay for this other than my Itachi so be prepared lol ^^

Sunday looks the best so far, unless someone want to chime in. Although personally, I can attend pretty much any day of the week right now.

Oh you didnt at all ^^ I just kinda wanted it out there that i have actually cosplayed here before and was never given any trouble for it so that if anyone does want to cosplay they can feel assured that their isnt anything wrong
